一 御勝手御不如意ニ付今度被 仰渡候趣五ケ年
之内右之通ニ候得者 御上ニも格別之御簡略被
仰付事候依之御家中何も簡略之儀
御代々被 仰出候趣随分相守可被申事御用之儀
御構不被成如何様ニも簡略致し候様被 仰付上者
私用之儀人々其心得可有之事候左候得物者以
後了簡違面々於有之者何も致吟味不了簡
之品御家老中江申達候様被 仰渡候間其分
可被相心得候
一 面々参会之節饗応之儀御先代ゟ度々被
仰出儀ニ候へ共猶又今度被 仰出候ニ付弥表立候
儀者一汁一菜香物酒返ニ不可過候併身近キ
縁者親類常参会之節右御定之通ニ者難
成儀も可有之候間右饗応之上有合候物
酒之肴に両種出候儀者格別之事ニ候其
余者在合候物或者菜葱之野菜等ニ而も堅
無用ニ可被致候酒之儀も右ニ准シ了簡可有之事

一、御勝手御不如意につき、今度仰せ渡された趣旨は、五ヶ年の内は右の通りである。そうであれば、御上におかれても格別の御簡略を仰せ付けになることである。これにより御家中は皆も簡略の儀について、御代々仰せ出された趣旨に随分従って申すべきことである。御用の儀については御構いにならず、いかようにも簡略致すよう仰せ付けになった上は、私用の儀については人々その心得があるべきことである。そうであるならば、物の後の了簡違いの面々がある者については、皆吟味を行い、了簡の悪い品については御家老中へ申し達するよう仰せ渡されたので、その旨を
心得られるべきである。
一、面々参会の節の饗応の儀は、御先代より度々仰せ出された儀であるが、なお又今度仰せ出されたにつき、いよいよ表立った儀は一汁一菜香物酒返しを過ぎてはならない。併せて身近き縁者親類が常に参会の節、右御定めの通りには難成な儀もあることであろうから、右饗応の上で有り合わせの物を酒の肴に両種出すことは格別のことである。その余は有り合わせの物あるいは菜葱の野菜等であっても堅く無用にすべきである。酒の儀も右に准じて了簡があるべきことである。

Memorandum
One: Regarding financial difficulties, the directive issued this time states that for the next five years, matters shall proceed as described above. Given this situation, His Lordship has also ordered special economies to be implemented. Therefore, all members of the household must diligently observe the directives regarding frugality that have been issued by successive generations. For official business, no restrictions shall be imposed, and maximum economy should be practiced as ordered. For private matters, each person should bear this in mind. Should there be any among the people who show poor judgment in the future, thorough investigation shall be conducted, and cases of poor judgment shall be reported to the senior retainers as has been ordered, so this point
should be understood.
One: Regarding hospitality when people gather together, this matter has been frequently addressed by previous lords, but as it has been ordered again this time, public occasions must not exceed one soup, one dish, pickles, and return cups of sake. However, when close relatives and family members gather regularly, it may be difficult to adhere strictly to the above regulations, so serving two kinds of available items as accompaniments to sake beyond the prescribed hospitality is acceptable. For everything else, even if available items or vegetables such as greens and onions are at hand, their use should be strictly avoided. The same prudent approach should be taken regarding sake.
