の屋敷（やしき）跡同村にあり常世の宮とて小祠（こほこら）残（のこ）れり
定家（ていか）卿の宮佐野 新府（にいふ）村にあれど好事者（かうすしや）の手に
なれる祠（ほこら）に採（とる）に足（た）らず佐野の舟橋の旧跡（きうせき）佐
野村にあり往古（むかし）烏（からす）川を船橋にて渡（わた）せし時船を
繋（つな）ぎし榎（ゑのき）の大 樹（じゆ）今に残（のこ）れり舟木の観音とて名
仏あり佐野の船橋は万葉 以下（いか）代々の撰（せん）集に詠
歌多く載（のせ）られし名跡（めいせき）なり○高崎（たかさき） 二里廿四丁

（永十八年辛卯三月十八日）と刻んだ石の観世音像がある。烏川には仮橋が架けられている。水源は碓氷郡川浦村の山中より発し、利根川に注ぐ。岩鼻町は（新町と高崎の）間にある宿駅である。近頃、陸軍省の弾薬製造所が建築された。同所の観音堂の境内に、元徳三年三月日と刻まれた古い石碑がある。
○倉賀野 一里八丁余り：
倉賀野三河守・同淡路守らが居城とした城跡が、駅の裏手にある。佐野長者の邸宅跡は、佐野村西光寺のほとりにある。佐野長者の経歴・来歴は詳しくはわからない。源左衛門常世の屋敷跡が同村にあり、常世の宮と称する小さな祠が今も残っている。定家卿の宮は佐野新府村にあるが、好事家の手によって作られた祠であり、信拠するに足りない。佐野の舟橋の旧跡は佐野村にある。昔、烏川を舟橋で渡していた時に、船を繋いでいたエノキの大木が今も残っている。舟木の観音と称する名高い仏像がある。佐野の舟橋は、万葉集以来、代々の勅撰集に詠歌が多く載せられた名跡である。

...there is a stone Kannon (Guanyin) image inscribed with the date "Eighteenth day of the third month, Kanoto-U [year], the eighteenth year of [the Ei era]." A temporary bridge has been erected over the Karasu River. The river's source rises in the mountains of Kawauramura village in Usui District and flows into the Tone River. Iwahana-machi is a post station situated between [Shinmachi and Takasaki]. Recently, the Army Ministry has constructed a munitions factory there. Within the precincts of the Kannon hall at that location, there is an ancient stone monument inscribed with "Third month, [day], third year of Gentoku."
○Kuragano Approximately 1 ri and 8 chō:
The castle ruins where Kuragano Mikawa-no-kami and Kuragano Awaji-no-kami and others resided are located at the rear of the post station. The site of the mansion of Sano Chōja is beside Saikō-ji Temple in Sano village. The personal history of Sano Chōja is not clearly known. The site of the residence of Gen'zaemon Tsuneyo is in the same village, and a small shrine called "Tsuneyo-no-Miya" still remains there. The shrine of Lord Teika [Fujiwara no Teika] is in Sano Niifu village, but it is a shrine built by the hands of enthusiastic amateurs and is not worthy of serious consideration. The historic site of the Sano Funabashi (boat bridge) is in Sano village. The great hackberry tree to which the boats were moored when the Karasu River was crossed by a boat bridge in ancient times still stands today. There is a renowned Buddha image known as the "Funaki Kannon." The Sano Funabashi is a famous historic site whose poems of verse have been included in many imperially commissioned anthologies from the Man'yōshū onward down through successive generations.
○Takasaki Approximately 2 ri and 24 chō:
There is a branch garrison of the Tokyo Garrison. There is a shrine to Minamoto Sanmi Yorimasa.
