見れは在も町場も発りに長じまして取
わけ倉敷町は料理するには土佐鰹節よ
一度にすてゝ二番せんじ一番せんじはぎこふて

様は日の本の主といへど味噌を肴に
酒呑れたと云事しらぬか高がしれたる町人めらが

せまる元をたづぬりや皆上からしなした業よこんな
発りを慎しむなれはかゝる後月の難儀は
あらし天下泰平五穀もみのり子孫繁
昌民安金の基と成べぎ里瀬を功徳
是て高水咄しも終る

見れば在郷も町場も贅沢に長けてしまいまして、とりわけ倉敷町は料理するのに土佐の鰹節を一度に捨てて二番だしとし、一番だしは贅沢すぎて食べない。一度煮たものをまた炊き直し、こんな馬鹿らしい贅沢があるものか。昔、最明寺時頼様は日本の主君といえども味噌を肴に酒を飲まれたということを知らないのか。身分の知れた町人どもが

It would become the foundation for peace throughout the realm, abundant grain harvests, prosperity of descendants, and the people's well-being. Taking this as a virtuous deed, the tale of the great flood also comes to an end here.
