現代語訳
ちょうど良い具合です。帰りの様子によって着物のことを、6日のお便りで申し上げましたが、今日では何も分かりません。6日頃までには少しは様子も分かるでしょうか。袷などを作るようにと申しましたが、なかなか高値でできません。そのため手持ちの品を送るようにということで、この件は来月6日のお便りで申し上げましょう。ただし、綿を抜いておくべきでしょうか。重ね重ねのお便りで恐縮です。

一、その宿屋へ源右衛門が申し遣わした旅費を平沢氏がお受け取りになるのをお忘れになり、二、三夜過ぎて思い出して与瀬宿で受け取りました。この件について中村氏へそのようにお申し下さい。詳細は帰国の際に申し上げます。

It is just right. Regarding clothing depending on the circumstances of our return, I sent word in the letter of the 6th, but today nothing is clear. By around the 6th, perhaps we will understand the situation a little? Though I said to prepare lined garments and such, they are quite expensive and cannot be made. Therefore, to send what is available - this matter I shall convey in next month's letter of the 6th. However, should we remove the cotton padding? I apologize for these repeated letters.
