**新刻『天経或問』凡例**
一、『天経或問』は、そもそも天学（天文学）の模範というべき書である。ゆえに今、侍医・法眼、長尾分哲先生のご依頼により、原本を校訂し、句読点を施して、上梓（出版）するものである。そもそも天学には、理・数・器・象の四つの道がある。ゆえに、たとえ老練な学者であっても、師友なくしてその真髄に通暁することはできない。このゆえに一編を著して『天学名目』と名づけ、諸学生をして大きな道筋を知らしめ、岐路に泣くことなく、ますます理解しやすくなることを願うものである。すなわちこれを（『天経或問』の）末尾に附して、これもまた天学への梯子・渡り場（手引き）とした。諸君子よ、どうかこれを方言・稗説（通俗的・卑小な説）として譏（そし）り、これを茂みに捨て踏みにじることなかれ。
一、諸家の謬妄（誤り・妄説）もまた、もとより少なくない。たとえば兪子（兪三省）が「太陽は黄道を一周すれば昼夜がある」と言い、游熙が「赤道の下の地は、両夏・両……（次頁へ続く）」

**Editorial Guidelines (Hanrei) for the Newly Printed Edition of the *Tenkei Wakumon***
Item One: The *Tenkei Wakumon* is, in essence, the model work of celestial learning (*tengaku*). Therefore, at the request of the Physician-in-Attendance of the rank of *Hōgen*, Master Nagao Buntetsu, we have now collated and revised the original text, added punctuation marks, and proceeded to publish it. Now, in celestial learning there are four paths: principle (*ri*), number (*sū*), instrument (*ki*), and phenomenon (*shō*). Therefore, even the most seasoned scholars cannot attain true mastery of this field without teachers and companions in study. For this reason, we have composed one additional volume and named it *Tengaku Meimoku* (Astronomical Terminology), intending to enable students to know the broad path forward without weeping at the crossroads, and to make understanding ever easier. This has accordingly been appended to the end of the work, and it too serves as a ladder and a ford leading into celestial learning. We ask that gentlemen of learning not ridicule it as mere vernacular talk or trivial accounts, and scatter and trample it underfoot.
