差上申一札之事
兼而被 仰出候博奕賭之諸勝負者可為申
惣而御法度筋厳重相守可申候中ニ者心得違
之者有之御差押相成重々奉恐入候向後者
五人組限相互厳敷申合御法度筋急度
為相守可申候万一心得違之者御座候ハゝ隣家
組合之者より精々異見差加へ改心為仕其上不相用
組合之内壱人たり共如何敷義罷及御聞何様之
蒙 御沙汰候共一言之申訳仕間敷候依之
一同連印仕差上申候処相違無御座候以上

差し上げ申す一札の事
かねてより仰せ出されました博打賭けの諸勝負は申すべからざることであり、総じて御法度の筋を厳重に相守り申すべき候ところ、心得違いの者これあり、御差し押さえ相成り、重々恐れ入り奉り候。今後は五人組限りで相互に厳しく申し合わせ、御法度の筋をきっと相守るべく申し候。万一心得違いの者御座候わば、隣家組合の者より精々異見差し加え改心させ仕り、その上相用いず、組合の内一人たりとも如何わしき義罷り及び御聞に達し、何様の御沙汰を蒙り候とも、一言の申し訳仕るまじく候。これにより一同連印仕り差し上げ申し候ところ、相違無く御座候。以上

Pledge Document Respectfully Submitted
Regarding gambling and various betting games that have been previously prohibited by official decree, we should strictly observe all forbidden practices. However, there have been those who have acted inappropriately, resulting in official intervention, for which we are deeply ashamed. Hereafter, within our five-household groups, we shall strictly coordinate with each other and absolutely observe the prohibited practices. Should there be anyone who acts inappropriately, the neighboring households in the group shall earnestly advise and reform them. If they do not comply and any member of our group engages in improper conduct that comes to official attention, regardless of what official judgment we may receive, we shall offer no excuses whatsoever. Therefore, we all affix our seals together and respectfully submit this pledge without any falsehood. The above.
