岩村迄罷越只管相頼候ニ付
右両人之者取次伝次郎へ貸渡
請人瀬八調印仕右引当酒造
株同諸道具蔵并此所と書入
両人手前江差出久蔵方へは両人ゟ
右取次之証人相添差入却而実意
を以取引仕罷在候所親久蔵義は
卯九月病死仕候ニ付右弐百両人は
利足卯年分催促仕候処利金

久蔵に付き添い、問屋会津屋鎌十郎が
申し上げます。去る嘉永2年酉年9月に
平出村伝次郎へ金200両を久蔵より
証文を取り交わして貸し渡しました。これは親の久蔵の
実兄である横川村所右衛門と、伝次郎の兄の
八右衛門の両人が、久蔵の商売先である濃州
岩村まで出向き、ひたすら頼み込んだため、
右の両人が仲介して伝次郎へ貸し渡しました。
請人は瀬八が調印し、その担保として酒造
株ならびに諸道具蔵およびこの場所を書き入れとして
両人の手元へ差し出し、久蔵の方へは両人より
右の仲介の証人を添えて差し入れ、かえって誠実に
取引をしておりましたところ、親の久蔵は
卯年9月に病死いたしましたので、右の200両の元金は
利息と共に卯年分を催促いたしましたところ、利金
の内から金5両を横川村所右衛門方へ支払い、
残りの利金を辰年になって催促いたしましたところ、
所右衛門を通じて早々に断りを申し、滞っているため

昨年巳年6月に久蔵ならびに横川村
所右衛門が同道して催促に及んだところ、親の
久蔵が存命中の去る亥年に
元金の内から金55両を返金し、
その上年賦返済にしてほしいと頼んだと申し出た
ため、久蔵が返答したのは、亥年に
元金の内から55両を返金したならば、
子・丑・寅と3か年の利金20両ずつを
支払わないという理由はない旨を申し聞かせたところ、
それは年賦返済の取り決めによって金子を

Regarding plaintiff Kyūzō of Niekawa post station on the Nakasendō Highway in Owari Domain, with the accompaniment of inn keeper Aizu-ya Kamajūrō, I respectfully submit: In the 9th month of Kaei 2nd year, Year of the Rooster, 200 ryō in gold was lent from Kyūzō to Denjirō of Hirade Village with proper documentation exchanged. This occurred because the late Kyūzō's actual elder brother Tokozaemon of Yokogawa Village and Denjirō's elder brother Hachiemon both traveled to Iwamura in Mino Province, which was Kyūzō's trading destination, and earnestly requested the loan. These two persons acted as intermediaries for the loan to Denjirō. Sehachi served as guarantor with his seal, and as security, a sake brewing license along with various brewing equipment and warehouse, as well as this location were pledged to both persons. To Kyūzō's side, both persons provided witnesses for this intermediary arrangement, and the transaction was conducted with sincerity. However, when the late Kyūzō died of illness in the 9th month of the Year of the Rabbit, regarding the 200 ryō principal plus interest for the Rabbit year, when collection was demanded, 5 ryō from the interest was paid to Tokozaemon of Yokogawa Village. When the remaining interest was demanded in the Dragon year, through Tokozaemon an early refusal was given and payment was delayed.

Last year in the 6th month of the Snake year, when Kyūzō and Tokozaemon of Yokogawa Village went together to demand payment, they claimed that during the late Kyūzō's lifetime in the previous Boar year, 55 ryō had been returned from the principal, and furthermore they had requested annual installment repayment. In response, Kyūzō replied that if 55 ryō had been returned from the principal in the Boar year, there would be no reason not to pay the interest of 20 ryō each for the three years of Rat, Ox, and Tiger.
