○御望様の御院号と差し合いがあるため、浄光院については今後「蓮正寺」という寺号を称することになった。この段、御家中へも知らせるようにとのことであるため、触れを申す。以上

○手紙をもって申し達す。この節、江戸表で取り沙汰されているさまざまな風聞、また江戸・京都より届く落書き（風刺文書）等があったとしても、みだりに取り扱わないよう、下々に至るまで申し付けるのがもっともなことである。この段は触れを申すほどのことでもないが、各々の心得として関係各所へ申し伝えるよう、御家老中からお申し聞かせがあったので、このようにお伝えする。お仲間中へもお申し伝えいただきたい。以上

○毎月十四日は清揚院様の御忌日であるため、公儀の御精進日とされた。ただいまより諸殺生を堅く停止する旨が仰せ出されたので、各々承知されたい。以上

一、御家中の奉公に召し仕える女性を召し抱える際に、男の口入れ（仲介）をすることになっていたが、今後は男の口入れをしないよう堅く申し付けるべきである。今後は町中において女の口入れ宿を申し付けることとするので、女奉公人を召し抱える際は、右の口入れ宿へ申し遣わして召し抱えるようにすべきである。

○Since the posthumous Buddhist title of Lady Gombō conflicts with that of another, the temple Jōkōin shall henceforth be called by the temple name "Renshōji." This matter is to be made known to all samurai household members, and thus this notice is issued. The above.

○This is communicated by letter. At this time, there are various rumors circulating in Edo, as well as satirical writings (rakusho) arriving from Edo and Kyoto. It is most appropriate that instructions be given down to the lowest ranks not to handle such materials carelessly. This matter is not of the sort that would normally warrant an official notice, but the Senior Retainers have directed that it be communicated to each party for their own awareness and passed along as appropriate to relevant parties. Please also convey this to your colleagues. The above.

○Within the gates of the castle enclosure (go-kuruwa) in Edo, those serving as attendants should be instructed not to wear bamboo hats (kasa) on fair-weather days. The above.

　　Addendum: Those under the command of the group unit should also be instructed accordingly. Furthermore, townspeople and farmers, including those serving as attendants, must not wear either sedge hats (suge-gasa) or woven hats (ami-gasa). ○Since the 14th of every month is the memorial day of Lady Seiyōin, it has been designated an official day of Buddhist abstinence. It has been decreed that all killing of living creatures is to be strictly prohibited from this time forward. Each party should take note. The above.

One item: It has been the practice that male employment brokers (kimoiri) serve as intermediaries when hiring female servants for samurai households. Henceforth, male brokers shall not be used, and this should be strictly enforced. From now on, female employment broker lodgings (kimoiri-yado) shall be designated in the town, and when hiring female servants, arrangements should be made through said female broker lodgings.
