○明五日、御姫様が御宮参りをなさるにつき、御道筋に盛り砂などをする儀は無用にすること。掃除などは行ってよいが、門内から人などが出ないよう、また窓などから覗かないようにすること。以上

○博奕の儀は、かねてより御法度のことである。なお、そのような儀に似寄ったことも無きよう、組支配のある面々、並びに家来等まで申し付けること。組の者を巡らせ、心許ない所へは主人が自ら吟味すべきであるから、右の趣をかねて固く申し付けること。以上　五月十六日　各位　追って組～　　　　　　　目付中

○京都へ家来等を差し越す儀があっても、一宿の外はしないよう申し付けること。重ねて触れるまでは右の通り固く相守るべき旨である。以上　八月二十八日　各位　追って組～　　　目付中
　　　右は、京の町中へ御触れが出され、帯刀の者が洛中に一宿の外は御停止の旨、厳しく御改めとなり、吉沢勘左衛門方より御奉行共へ申し来たったので、このようにした。

○博奕の儀は、前々より重き御法度であるから、少分のことであっても勝負の付く博奕に似寄った儀は、慰み事共ども一切無用にすること。その品があると知れた上は、吟味を遂げ、必ず申し付けるので、その意を得て、家来の者共へも守るよう、固く申し付けること。以上　二月九日　各位　追って組～　目付中

○Gambling has long been strictly prohibited by domain law. Furthermore, things resembling such conduct are also to be forbidden; those holding positions over groups (組支配) as well as their retainers and subordinates are to be duly instructed. Members of each group are to make rounds, and the master himself is to conduct inspections of any places giving cause for concern. The intent of the above is to be strictly communicated in advance to all parties. The above.　16th day of the 5th month　To all　Additionally to groups～　　　　　　　Inspector corps

○Even when retainers and the like are sent to Kyoto on business, they are to be instructed not to lodge for more than a single night. Until further notice is issued, the above is to be strictly observed. The above.　28th day of the 8th month　To all　Additionally to groups～　　Inspector corps
　　　[Note:] The above was issued because a notice was sent out throughout the city of Kyoto, and word came from Yoshizawa Kanzaemon to the magistrates (奉行) stating that armed persons (帯刀の者) were strictly prohibited from lodging more than one night within the capital; this notice was therefore issued accordingly.

○As gambling has long been subject to the strictest prohibition, even matters of minor scale that resemble gambling involving wagers are to be entirely avoided, including those undertaken as pastimes and amusements. Should it become known that any such activity has occurred, an investigation will be conducted and strict punishment will be meted out without fail. ○As the ladies-in-waiting in charge are moving into the garden pond area (御泉水) today, henceforth whenever anyone ascends to the rooftop or any other elevated place, they must first report to the official attendants of the ladies-in-waiting and act according to their instructions. Strictly instruct all persons of lower station not to ascend to elevated places without permission. The above.

Take heed of this intent, and strictly instruct all retainers and subordinates, down to the most junior members, to exercise firm restraint. The above.
