実にてこれを除く。実の余り三百四十三。これは小角（こすみ）に引き払う也。

九穰三杼二垓六兆一億四万五千三百四（余り四あり）

実に積数を置き、先ず位を見る時、千の位也。商に四千と立てる。また下法にて再び上がり四千と立てる。法にて下法に商を掛ける。〔四×四〕一京六兆とし、再び一十百千と上がりて、商の四千を以て法に掛ける。〔一×四〕四穰、〔四×六〕二穰四杼。実にてこれを除く。

Place the accumulated number as the dividend, and first examine the place value — it is the thousands place. Set 4,000 as the quotient. Again, using the lower method, raise again and set 4,000. Using the method, multiply the quotient against the lower method: [4×4] = 1 kyō, 6 chō. Then again raise by one-ten-hundred-thousand, and multiply the quotient 4,000 into the method: [1×4] = 4 jō; [4×6] = 2 jō, 4 jo. Subtract this from the dividend.
