△あるいはまめいた九百卅目有時丁銀にかへる
時に内三分／引（ひき）て右のまめ板に丁銀なにほとゝ云時
丁銀 九百弐匁一分に成といふ

現代語訳
【一巻三十丁裏】
△ある場合、豆板銀（まめいたぎん）が九百三十匁あり、これを丁銀に換える際に、内三分引きとして、この豆板銀に対して丁銀はいくらになるかと問う場合、
丁銀 九百二匁一分になるという。
まず左に十匁と置き、この内から三分引けば残りは九匁七分となる。これを右の九百三十匁にかけると丁銀の額が求まる。

（外）は一下三で割るなり

《第十六 金両替の事》
△金二十五匁がある時、判金の相場が銀五百二十八匁換えとして、この金に対して銀はいくらになるかと問う場合、
銀 三百目（匁）という。
判金一枚の重さは四十四匁である。相場の五百二十八匁を四十四匁で割れば、金一匁につき銀十二匁ずつにあたる。これを右の金二十五匁にかければ銀三百目が求まる。
ただし、これは初心者はこのように計算する方法である。場合によっては合わないこともある、よくない算（計算法）である。

△ Suppose one has 930 monme of mameita-gin (bean-shaped silver coins) and wishes to exchange them for chōgin (ingot silver) at a deduction of 3 bu (3%) on the inside rate. The question is: how much chōgin does one receive for this mameita-gin?
Answer: 902 monme 1 bu of chōgin.
First, place 10 monme on the left; subtract 3 bu from this, leaving 9 monme 7 bu. Multiply this by the 930 monme on the right, and the amount of chōgin is obtained.
△ For a 3-bu deduction (inside rate): multiply by 9.7.
For the outside rate: divide by 1.03.
△ For a 3-bu increase (outside rate): multiply by 1.03.
For the inside rate: divide by 9.7.
The chanting table for dividing by 43:
○ [1 ÷ 43]: add 14 to the lower place; ○ [2 ÷ 43]: add 28 to the lower place
○ [3 ÷ 43]: add 42 to the lower place; ○ [4 ÷ 43]: add 13 to the lower place

**Section 16: On Exchanging Gold Ryō**
△ When one has 25 monme of gold and the market rate for han-kin (判金, oval gold coins) is 528 monme of silver per coin, the question is: how much silver does this gold amount to?
Answer: 300 monme of silver.
One han-kin coin weighs 44 monme. Dividing the market rate of 528 monme by 44 monme gives the silver equivalent per monme of gold, which is 12 monme of silver per monme of gold. Multiplying this by the 25 monme of gold gives 300 monme of silver.
Note: This is the method by which beginners would perform this calculation. However, depending on the circumstances, this method may not give accurate results — it is an imprecise method of calculation.
