△此弐／間（けん）四／方（はう）有（ある）所を内外皆（うちそとみな）金薄（きんはく）をおく時
は薄（はく）なにほと入そといふ時に

銀（ぎん）四十五匁を十二匁にてわれは三百七拾五／枚（まい）と成也

五枚は銀なにほとそといふ時

先（まつ）弐千三百八拾五／枚（まい）と右にをきこれに九匁

【二巻三十二丁裏】
△この二間四方ある所を、内外すべて金箔を置くとき、箔はどれほど入るかというと、
三寸の金 六千四百枚入りという。
この間（ま）は六尺ずつ並べて十六間ある。十六間に六尺をかけると九十六となる。これに高さ六尺をかけると五百七十六となる。これを右に別に置いて、また左に三寸箔を左右に置いてかけると九となる。これで右の五百七十六を割ると、箔六千四百枚入りとわかるのである。

**第十二 箔売り買いの事（金箔の売買を計算すること）**
△金箔百枚につき銀十二匁のとき、銀四十五匁では箔はどれほど取れるかというと、
箔 三百七十五枚という。
銀四十五匁を十二匁で割ると三百七十五枚となるのである。
△金箔百枚につき九匁六分のとき、箔二千三百八十五枚は銀いくらかというと、
銀 二百二十八匁九分六厘という。
まず二千三百八十五枚を右に置き、これに九匁六分をかけると二百二十八匁九分六厘となるのである。

△ For a space measuring 2 ken square, when applying gold leaf to all interior and exterior surfaces, how many sheets of gold leaf are needed?
3-sun gold leaf: 6,400 sheets.
Each ken measures 6 shaku, and arranging them gives 16 ken in total [of surface to be covered]. Multiplying 16 ken by 6 shaku gives 96. Multiplying this by the height of 6 shaku gives 576. Set this aside on the right. Then, placing 3-sun gold leaf sheets left and right [i.e., calculating the area of one sheet: 3 sun × 3 sun] gives 9 [tsubo]. Dividing the figure of 576 on the right by this gives 6,400 sheets of gold leaf.

△ When 100 sheets of gold leaf cost 12 monme of silver, how many sheets can be obtained for 45 monme of silver?
Gold leaf: 375 sheets.
Dividing 45 monme of silver by 12 monme gives 375 sheets.
△ When 100 sheets of gold leaf cost 9 monme 6 bu, how much silver is needed for 2,385 sheets?
Silver: 228 monme 9 bu 6 rin.
First, place 2,385 sheets on the right, and multiply this by 9 monme 6 bu to get 228 monme 9 bu 6 rin.
