The mountain was eighteen to nineteen jō (approximately 54-57 meters) in height, located between Yasuba Village and Yamahirabayashi Village. This mountain rumbled like great thunder, and both its ends collapsed. One location collapsed over thirty chō (approximately 3.3 kilometers), and another over eighty chō (approximately 8.8 kilometers). The debris rushed into the upper reaches of the Tanba River, burying nearby villages entirely. Floods overflowed, rising seven to eight jō (approximately 21-24 meters) high, turning several villages into lakes, with countless human and animal casualties.
A little to the north, there was a rocky mountain about six jō (approximately 18 meters) high, which also collapsed and pushed about five chō (approximately 545 meters) into the river. The villages of Tsuchiya and Fujikura were swept into the water. In Atsumi District, a place called Shinmachi with 380 houses was completely destroyed, immediately caught fire, and burned down entirely. Subsequently, great floods rose about two jō (approximately 6 meters) high, creating an unbearable sight.
