三宿町辺りが焼ける。神明の宮は無事であった。小笠原佐渡守様の屋敷が焼け、太田備中守様の下屋敷も焼失した。○向かいは常盤町が焼け、高橋際で火が止まった。御籾蔵脇の深川元町は一町が潰れて家三軒が残る。○南本所竪川通りの相生町・松坂町辺りは崩れが多く、二つ目緑町一丁目・二丁目が焼ける。三丁目は崩れのみで残る。北四丁目から五丁目、三の橋花町は少し焼けて止まる。○向川岸《割書：竪川の北》松井町・林町辺りは所々損傷し、徳右衛門町一丁目・二丁目が焼ける。三丁目は残る。椹木橋向かいは逆井の辺りまで所々潰れが多い。○また亀戸町二ヶ所が少しずつ焼ける。天神御社は無事である。柳島・押上辺りは所々損傷し、法恩寺橋左右は崩れが多い上、橋から左右へ一町半ほどずつ焼ける。長崎町・吉田町・吉岡町辺りも潰れが多い。○南割下水の前後左右の小屋敷は崩れが多く、その数は計り難い。北割下水辺り、松倉町は格別損傷が多い。
芝井町・弁天小路・牛の御前御旅所近辺が焼ける。○その他石原・番場辺り、中の郷・原庭はいずれも出火が少々ずつ所々にある。○吾妻橋向かいの松平周防守様の御屋敷が焼ける。小梅瓦町・村方とも損じが多く、隅田川の堤が所々割れて砂を吹き出す。請地・寺島・須田村辺りはすべて損じが多い。すべて御府内を一様に見積もれば、山の手辺りは崩れが少なく、その地が高い所は損傷が少ない。あるいは赤城下・改代町・古川町から小日向の川筋、富坂下・指ヶ谷町辺り、本郷は菊坂下、また神田明神下・湯島天神下など地が低い所は甚だ強い。下町はすべて損じが多いといえども、わずか半町・一町隔てて軽重があること、地震もその筋があると見えた。出火は多く潰れ家がある所より発生する。始めは三十余ヶ所であったが後々は一つに

The area around Sanjuku-machi burned. Shinmei Shrine was unharmed. The residence of Lord Ogasawara Sado no Kami burned, and the lower residence of Lord Ota Bitchu no Kami was also destroyed by fire. ○On the opposite side, Tokiwa-machi burned, and the fire stopped at Takahashi bridge. At Fukagawa Moto-machi next to the rice storehouse, one block collapsed with only three houses remaining. ○In Minami Honjo along Tategawa-dori, Aioi-machi and Matsuzaka-machi areas had many collapses, and Futatsu-me Midori-machi 1st and 2nd districts burned. The 3rd district remained with only collapses. From Kita 4th to 5th district, San-no-hashi Hana-machi burned slightly and stopped. ○On the opposite riverbank (north of Tategawa), Matsui-machi and Hayashi-machi areas were damaged in places, and Tokuemon-machi 1st and 2nd districts burned. The 3rd district remained. From across Sawaragi-bashi to the Sakasai area, there were many collapses in various places. ○Also, two locations in Kameido-machi burned slightly. Tenjin Shrine was unharmed. Yanagishima and Oshiage areas were damaged in places, and there were many collapses on both sides of Hoon-ji bridge, with fires extending about 1.5 blocks in each direction from the bridge. Shibai-machi, Benten-koji, and the area near Ushi-no-gozen Otabisho burned. ○In addition, Ishihara, Bamba area, Naka-no-go, and Haraniwai all had small fires occurring in various places. ○Across Azuma-bashi, the residence of Lord Matsudaira Suo no Kami burned. Koume Kawara-machi and the village areas suffered extensive damage, and the Sumida River embankment cracked in places, spewing out sand. Ukichi, Terashima, and Suda village areas all suffered extensive damage. Looking at the entire府内 uniformly, the Yamanote area had fewer collapses, and higher elevated areas had less damage. Areas such as below Akagi, Kaitai-machi, from Furukawa-machi to the Kohinata river area, below Tomisaka, Sasuga-ya-machi area, in Hongo below Kikusaka, and also below Kanda Myojin and Yushima Tenjin - these low-lying areas were severely affected. Although downtown areas generally suffered extensive damage, there were differences in severity even within just half a block or one block distance, suggesting that earthquakes follow certain patterns. Fires mostly originated from areas with collapsed houses. Initially there were over thirty locations, but later they merged into one.
