我吊死人者（われしにんをとむらゑは） 死人亦守我（しにんまたわれをまもる）
己敬施人者（おのれほどこすひとをうやまへば） 施人亦哀我（ほとこすひとまたわれをあわれむ）
欲逃己身者（おのれかみをにげんとほつせば） 先令逃他人（まつたにんをにけさしめよ）
見怪我人之愁（けがにんのうれいをみば） 則自共可痛（すなはちみづからともにいたむべし）
聞他人之無事（たにんのふしをきけば） 則自共可悦（すなはちみつからともによろこぶへし）
見貧人施行（まづしきひとをみばほどこしをおこなへ） 見焼者忽逃（やけるとみばたちまちにげよ）

現代語訳
私が死人を弔えば、死人もまた私を守ってくれる。
自分が施しを敬う人であれば、施しをする人もまた私を哀れんでくれる。
自分の身を逃がそうと欲するならば、まず他人を逃がしてやりなさい。
怪我人の憂いを見れば、自分も共に痛みを感じるべきである。
他人の無事を聞けば、自分も共に喜ぶべきである。
貧しい人を見れば施しを行い、火事を見ればただちに逃げよ。
女を好む者は病気を招く、たとえば地震の響きに落ちるようなものである。
襦袢は我が身に従うようなものであり、金銭を惜しむ者は壁土をかぶる。
たとえ金子であっても持ち出すことなかれ、あるいは初めに逃げて鎮まって帰る。
貴いといえども下食を忘れるなかれ、あるいはまず上食の後に下す。
それでも貰い難いのは至って悪い、恩賞の家財。
また易きに暮らして忘れ難い、寺院の供養。

If I mourn the dead, the dead will also protect me.
If one respects those who give charity, those who give charity will also have pity on me.
If you wish to save your own body, first let others escape.
