徒（いたずら）に死地に向かうようなものだ／たとえ（家が）潰れるといえども悔やまなければ
ただ隣の無事を数えるようなものだ／君子は土地・場所を大切にする
町人は職人を大切にする／潰れかかっている家に入るといえども
屋根のない人のためには／なお軒下の雨のようなものだ（雨をしのぐ屋根もない人にとっては、軒下でさえ有難い）
金銭の門（お金持ちの家・金融の場）を出るといえども／慈悲のない人のためには

英語訳
If one has money, there are means/options — and if one is injured, there is life (proof that one is still alive).

It is just like a straw mat abandoned in the middle of a garden — an earthquake occurs between heaven and earth.
Distribute soba noodles beyond the (temporary) stalls — even relatives are, in a manner of speaking, like strangers.
Even under the eaves, tiles still fall — those who give charity do so morning and evening.
The rice that is given to you, eat it day and night (without discrimination of time) — do not quarrel while sharing a meal.
Perform acts of charity for one's own sake (i.e., for one's own spiritual benefit) — distribute rice and money for one's own sake.
