指上候様可致之旨被 仰出候依之此節登

一、三月二日、先達て姫路へ派遣した御使者田辺五太夫利美房、太田三郎兵衛が今日帰着した。
一、同月六日
於義丸様が両御丸へ登城する件並びに御献上物の
御伺書を去月御用番本田伯耆守正珍殿へ御使者
御留守居加藤長右衛門正敏を以て提出したところ、今日御同所より
御呼出しがあり同人が出向いたところ、御伺書に左の通り御附札を以て御
指図があった。
於義丸年始の御祝儀として
両御丸へ登城し箱肴一種ずつ献上し年頭の
御礼を申し上げたい旨を去る辰二月御用番堀田
相模守殿へ伺ったところ、追って御沙汰により於義丸幼年の
内は
御本丸・西丸大奥へ登城するよう、もっとも箱肴一種ずつ
差し上げるよう致すべき旨が仰せ出された。これにより今回登
城の件を伺い申すべきでしょうか。

Regarding Lord Yoshimaru's attendance at both citadels and the matter of tribute offerings, an inquiry document was submitted last month through envoy and deputy keeper Katō Chōemon Masatoshi to Lord Honda Hōki-no-kami Masachin, who was the monthly duty officer. Today there was a summons from the same office, and when the same person went there, the following directive was given to the inquiry document by means of an attached note:
Regarding presenting New Year's congratulations for Yoshimaru,
we wish to have him attend both citadels and present one type of boxed delicacies to each as New Year's courtesy. When we inquired about this matter to Lord Hotta Sagami-no-kami, the monthly duty officer, in the second month of last year (Year of the Dragon), we were subsequently informed by official response that while Yoshimaru is still young,
he should attend the main citadel and the western citadel's inner quarters, and should of course present one type of boxed delicacies to each. Based on this, should we inquire about this attendance matter at this time?
