拙者儀痰症御座候付累年暑ニ痛向暑之節
長途之旅行別而相障候儀ニ御座候而致難儀候
来年例之通御暇被下置候ハヽ暑気薄場所
故木曽路罷越度奉存候此段相伺申候以上
現代語訳
縁組願いを差し出さず、内々にて引き取り置き、婚姻を相談の上、追って縁組願いもあるということである。そのようなことがあっては、不都合なことであるから、今後みだりにそのようなことがないよう心得るべきである。

一 五月七日、天徳寺において照光院様七回忌御法事が執行された。運正寺においても右同様に執行された。
一 同月十二日、御使者を以て例の通り御国産の初鯖を献上された。
一 同月十五日、御用番本多伯耆守正珍殿より御呼び出しがあり、御留守居加藤長右衛門正敏が参上したところ、来る十八日、於義丸様が西丸大奥へ御登城されることを御書付を以て申し聞かされた。
一 同月十五日、かねてより御痰症につき、来年御帰国の節、中仙道を御旅行されたく、御用番本多伯耆守正珍殿へ御使者御留守居加藤長右衛門正敏を以て左の通り御書付を差し出された。
「拙者儀、痰症がございまして、累年暑さに痛み、向暑の節、長途の旅行は別して差し障りがございまして、難儀いたしております。来年例の通り御暇をお下し置きくださいますならば、暑気の薄い場所ゆえ、木曽路を越えたく存じ上げます。この段相伺い申し上げます。以上」

Item: Same month, 15th - Due to his ongoing phlegm condition, regarding next year's return to the domain, desiring to travel via the Nakasendō route, the following written petition was submitted to Duty Officer Honda Hōki-no-kami Masayoshi through messenger and Caretaker Katō Chōemon Masatoshi:
"I suffer from a phlegm condition, and for many years have been pained by heat. During hot seasons, long-distance travel is particularly troublesome and causes me great difficulty. If you would grant me leave as usual next year, since it is a place with less heat, I would like to travel via the Kiso route. I respectfully inquire about this matter. End."
