銀三十枚御拝領 上使御越之節頼母《割書：直｜道》様為御名代中仕切
御門内迄御出迎御案内ニ而御書院江御通
上意之趣《割書：兵部大輔致死去可致愁傷候 御上ニも御残念
思召候依之以｜上使御香典被下置候 大御所様 大納言様ゟも 上意右御同様》
御達有之畢而頼母様御香典御頂戴被成御勝手江御引取
小笠原縫殿助 殿出座
於義丸様御風気ニ付御出不被成段被申達之畢而頼母様
御出御請被仰上御退出之節最前御出迎之所迄御送被成
即刻右御礼御老中御廻勤
一 同日今度 御遺骸御国運正寺江御葬送ニ付御法号之儀
運正寺未入院前ニ而在府ニ付指上候様被 仰付依之天徳寺江
其旨御留守居ゟ申越候処存寄も無之旨ニ付運正寺江御法号
指上候様御使者を以被 仰出之
一 同月廿四日右同断ニ付御法号左之通運正寺持参指上之
徳正院殿南越大守羽林次将廣誉明達賢提大居士
一 同日御病気御太切ニ付江戸表ゟ之御使山形治郎左エ門 御徒

現代語訳
一 十月二十三日 上使御奏者番稲葉丹後守（正益）殿を通じて御香典として
銀三十枚を御拝領した。上使がお越しになった際、頼母（直道）様が御名代として中仕切
御門内まで御出迎えし御案内して御書院へお通しした。
上意の趣旨（兵部大輔が死去したことは愁傷すべきことである。御上におかれても御残念に
思召されている。これにより上使を通じて御香典を下し置かれる。大御所様、大納言様からも 上意は右と御同様）
が御達しされ、その後頼母様が御香典を御頂戴され御勝手へ御引き取りになった。
小笠原縫殿助殿が出座した。
於義丸様が御風邪につき御出席されなかった旨が申し達され、その後頼母様が
御出座されお受けを仰せ上げ御退出の際、最初の御出迎えの場所まで御送りされた。
即刻、右の御礼を御老中へ廻勤した。
一 同日、今度 御遺骸を御国の運正寺へ御葬送するにつき御法号の件について
運正寺の住職がまだ入院前で在府しているため指上するよう仰せ付けられ、これにより天徳寺へ
その旨を御留守居から申し越したところ、異存もない旨につき運正寺へ御法号を
指上するよう御使者を通じて仰せ出された。
一 同月二十四日、右同断につき御法号を左の通り運正寺が持参し指上した。
徳正院殿南越大守羽林次将廣誉明達賢提大居士
一 同日、御病気が御重篤につき江戸表からの御使山形治郎左エ門、御徒
（岩佐五郎太夫）が到着し、月番御家老本多民部（道好）宅へ赴いて相達した。

- October 23rd: Through the imperial messenger and court announcer Inaba Tango-no-kami (Masumasu), [the domain] received thirty silver pieces as condolence money. When the imperial messenger arrived, Yorimomo (Naomichi) served as representative and went out to greet him at the inner gate area, guided him, and led him to the reception hall.
The imperial will was conveyed (The death of Hyōbu-no-taiyu is a matter for mourning. His Majesty also feels regret about this. Therefore, condolence money is bestowed through an imperial messenger. The same imperial will applies from the Retired Shōgun and the Dainagon).
After this was communicated, Yorimomo received the condolence money and withdrew to the private quarters.
Lord Ogasawara Nuinosuke was present.
It was reported that Lord Ogimaru could not attend due to a cold, and afterward Yorimomo
came out, respectfully acknowledged [the message], and when departing, was escorted to the place where he had initially been greeted.
Immediately, thanks for this matter were conveyed in rounds to the senior councilors.
- On the same day, regarding the transport of the remains to Unshōji temple in the home domain for burial, concerning the matter of the posthumous Buddhist name:
Since the head priest of Unshōji temple had not yet entered the temple and was still in Edo, it was ordered that [the name] be submitted. Accordingly, this matter was communicated from the caretaker to Tentokuji temple, and since there were no objections, it was announced through a messenger that the posthumous Buddhist name should be submitted to Unshōji temple.
- On the 24th of the same month, regarding the same matter, Unshōji temple brought and submitted the posthumous Buddhist name as follows:
Tokushōin-den Nan'etsu-taishi Urin-jishō Kōyo-myōtatsu-kentei-daigoji
- On the same day, due to the serious illness, messengers from Edo - Yamagata Jirōzaemon and foot soldier
(Iwasa Gorōdayū) - arrived and went to the residence of the monthly senior retainer Honda Minbu (Michiyoshi) to report.
