一、大納言様へも、同人（加藤長右衛門）をもって右同断に献じられ候。御側衆・戸田土佐守（氏明）殿より、後刻披露を遂げるべき旨を申し聞かされた。
一、十二月二十五日、御家督御祝儀につき、御国において大赦が仰せ出だされた。
一、同日、大目付・石川土佐守（正朝）殿より御廻状をもって、当午年諸国人別改帳面を当八・九月頃までの内に土佐守殿へ差し出すよう、諸事の改め方・認め方等は前々の通りである旨、松平大膳大夫様・細川越中守殿の留守居より廻達があった。
一、同日、東叡山において至心院様（大納言様の御実母）の三回御忌の御法事が執り行われたにつき、
大納言様の御機嫌を伺うため、御使者・御留守居・横田作大夫（尚道）をもって、西丸へ薯蕷（青籠入り台居、三十本）を献じられ候（去る二十日に御伺い済み）ところ、御側衆・戸田土佐守（氏明）殿より後刻披露を遂げるべき旨を申し聞かされた。
一、同月二十六日、右同断につき、御使者・御物頭・御持弓頭・加賀九郎右衛門（■■）をもって、東叡山御本坊へ御香奠として白銀一枚を差し上げられ候（去る十九日に御伺い済み）。
一、同月二十九日、東叡山・至心院様の御霊前へ大納言様が御参詣なされたにつき、還御以後、御機嫌を伺うため、御使者・御留守居・横田作大夫（尚道）が御城へ差し出され候ところ、御目付・牧野織部殿に謁見された。

Item: To the Great Counselor (Dainagon-sama) as well, the same person [Katō Chōuemon] was dispatched to present the same [gift]. The Shōgun's Attendant Councilor, Toda Tosa-no-Kami (Ujimei), informed [the envoy] that the matter would be reported at a later hour.
Item: On the 25th day of the 12th month, on the occasion of the celebration of [the new lord's] succession to the headship of the domain, a general amnesty was proclaimed throughout the domain.
Item: On the same day, a circular was received from the Senior Inspector (ōmetsuke), Ishikawa Tosa-no-Kami (Masatomo), stating that the population registers (ninbetsu-aratame-chōmen) of the various provinces for the current Year of the Horse were to be submitted to Tosa-no-Kami by around the 8th or 9th month, and that all matters of inspection and documentation were to follow the established precedents — this notification having been circulated through the castle liaison officers (rusui) of Matsudaira Daizenno-daibu-sama and Hosokawa Etchū-no-Kami.
Item: On the same day, as a memorial service (hōji) was held at Tōeizan [Kan'eiji Temple] for the third anniversary of the death of Shishin'in-sama (the biological mother of the Great Counselor), an envoy — the castle liaison officer Yokota Sakudayū (Naomichi) — was dispatched to the Nishi-no-Maru [the Great Counselor's residence] to inquire after the Great Counselor's well-being, presenting [as a gift] yams (yamaimo; thirty roots, arranged on a stand in a green basket) [prior approval having been obtained on the 20th]. The Attendant Councilor, Toda Tosa-no-Kami (Ujimei), informed [the envoy] that the matter would be reported at a later hour.
Item: On the 26th day of the same month, regarding the same matter [the memorial service], an envoy — the unit commander and bow-bearer captain Kaga Kurōuemon (personal name illegible) — was dispatched to present one piece of white silver as incense offering money (kōden) to the main temple precinct (honbō) of Tōeizan [prior approval having been obtained on the 19th].
Item: On the 29th day of the same month, as the Great Counselor paid a visit to Tōeizan to pray before the spirit of Shishin'in-sama, after the Great Counselor's return, an envoy — the castle liaison officer Yokota Sakudayū (Naomichi) — was dispatched to the castle to inquire after [the Great Counselor's] well-being, and was received by the Inspector (metsuke), Makino Oribe.
