一、同日、評定所において、諸役方へ、去年以来御物入りこれあり、当時御差し支えの御様子につき、諸役方随分心を用い、御奉行共申し談じ、御入方を相減らし、御ため相成り候よう。尤も御目付共へも仰せ付け置かれ候間、少分の事にても不調法の筋これあり候わば、仰せ付け方これあるべく候。その段申し付くべき旨、月番御家老 松平主馬（正明）申し渡し之。

The twenty-seventh memorial service (o-torikoashi, i.e., an advance observance) for Hōsen-in-sama was conducted, with a tea offering (o-chato) performed.
Item: On the same day, at the Hyōjōsho (the Council of Justice), the following was conveyed to the various officials: As there have been considerable expenditures since last year and the domain's finances are currently strained, the various officials should take great care, consult among themselves along with the commissioners (bugyō), and endeavor to reduce expenditures so as to benefit the domain. Furthermore, as the inspectors (metsuke) have also been so instructed, should any matter of negligence or impropriety — however minor — come to light, appropriate instruction will be issued accordingly. The monthly-duty Chief Retainer (karō), Matsudaira Shume (Masamitsu), announced these instructions.
Item: The first day of the fourth month.
A circular notification was received from the resident officials (rusui) of Matsudaira Mutsu-no-kami's [domain] and Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami's [domain], informing that the Senior Inspector (Ō-metsuke) Ishikawa Tosa-no-kami (Masatomo) and Nose Inaba-no-kami (Yoritsugu) had announced at Edo Castle that, henceforth, the Dainagon-sama [i.e., the head of the Hitotsubashi branch] would make a formal appearance (shutsu-gyo) on the first day of each month as a regular practice.
Item: On the same day, as the monk Unshōji (Hakuzen) had been commanded to present his thanks at Edo Castle for his appointment as abbot (nyūin), an envoy was dispatched to the commissioners of temples and shrines (Jisha-bugyō) as the appropriate expression of gratitude for this matter.
Item: On the fourth day of the same month, upon being summoned from the Hitotsubashi residence, the steward (go-yōnin) Daidōji Magokurō (Shigeyoshi) presented himself. As there had also been instructions issued by the Bakufu in the last month of the previous year, henceforth, the Hitotsubashi inspectors (metsuke) would be dispatched here periodically on inspection visits to hold discussions with our domain's inspectors (metsuke), in order that the Hitotsubashi house might privately inquire into the well-being of the Edo residence and the home domain. Moreover, there may be occasions when our inspectors would be summoned to the Hitotsubashi residence. This was communicated through the Hitotsubashi steward Komiyama Risuke.
