英語訳

(Continued from previous page) In accordance with precedent set by the previous lord, the following gifts were presented to the Shogun: one ceremonial summer robe (katabira, bearing the family crest, in pale yellow) and one unlined garment (hitoe, bearing the family crest, in black satin). At the Yanagi-no-ma chamber in Edo Castle, the Duty Commissioner Lord Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke) was in attendance, and the Announcement Official (sōjaban) Lord Morikawa Hyōbu-no-shōyu (Toshikata) made the formal presentation. The same envoy presented identical gifts to the Lord Dainagon. At the same location, the Senior Counselor attached to the Lord Dainagon, Lord Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Suzutomo), was in attendance, and the Announcement Official Lord Inoue Tōtōmi-no-kami (Masaatsu) made the formal presentation. Item: On the same day, in connection with the foregoing, through a written communication from the senior lady-in-waiting (rōjochū), the following items were received for the first time as gifts: five sets of seasonal garments (o-jifuku, consisting of two katabira robes with family crest in pale yellow on eight-tan fabric, one unlined garment in the same style, one unlined garment in black satin, and one length of habutae silk undergarment), and one box of dried sea bream. For the envoy carrying the gift list (mokuroku), three hundred hiki in gold was given; to the three senior escort officials (kami-sairyō), likewise two hundred hiki; to the four junior escort officials (shimo-sairyō), likewise two hundred hiki; and to the ten bearers (mochi-bito), likewise three hundred hiki. Sake and soup were also provided. Note: Hereafter, the items given to the envoy and others in connection with the Boys' Festival gift-receipt will not be recorded, as they are now standard practice. Regarding the expression of gratitude (o-rei) for the above received gifts: as the lord was of young age, his representative (myōdai), Lord Fukujirō (Katafusa), was sent to convey thanks to the Duty Commissioner Lord Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke), the Senior Counselor attached to the Retired Shogun Lord Nishio Oki-no-kami (Tadanao), and the Senior Counselor attached to the Lord Dainagon Lord Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Suzutomo). For the remaining Senior Counselors, the Guard Captain (o-shoin-bangashira) Nakane Yukinori (■■) was dispatched as envoy. As a separate gesture of thanks specifically to Lord Sagami-no-kami, the Senior Retainer (o-karō) Ashida Zuisho (Kenno) was sent. For the Attendant Officials (o-soba-shū), namely Lord Takai Hyōbu-no-shōyu (Nobufusa), Lord Ōoka Izumo-no-kami (Tadamitsu), and Lord Ogasawara Iwami-no-kami (Masanori), envoy-messengers (o-tsukaban) were dispatched.
