One ka (一荷, a unit/load) was received for the first time as a gift. On that occasion, three hundred hiki in gold were sent to the messenger; one hundred hiki to one person in charge of the decorative arrangement (kazarikata); two hundred hiki to one person in charge of escorting the inventory list (mokuroku sōryō) and two carriers of the inventory list box; three hundred hiki to five senior escorts (kami-sōryō); two hundred hiki to five junior escorts (shimo-sōryō); and three hundred hiki to twenty-two carriers (mochinin). Additionally, zōni (New Year's soup), sake, and suimono (clear broth) were provided.
Note: Regarding the gifts bestowed upon the messengers and others in connection with the receipt of the kagami-mochi, since this will henceforth become a regular established custom, it will not be recorded again.
As for the expression of gratitude for the above-mentioned gift, since the recipient was still of young age (goyōnen), the Deputy (Nodai), Shikibu-no-shōyu (Chikатеru)-sama, acted on their behalf and was sent to the Goyōban (Senior Councillor on Duty) Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masaaki), to the Rōjū (Senior Councillor) attached to the Ōgosho-sama, Nishio Oki-no-kami (Tadanao) [with the name "Suketomo" struck through and corrected], and to the Rōjū attached to the Dainagon-sama, Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Suketomo).
