御番衆中
但し、横川御関所通行の手形については、御屋敷奉行の印鑑も右に同様のものを差し遣わしたが、日限は詳らかでない。
一、九月晦日、御用番・堀田相模守（正亮）殿より、松平加賀守殿・松平筑前守殿・松平大膳大夫様の留守居を御呼び出しになり、左の通り御書付をもって仰せ渡されたとの由、右留守居より廻達があった。
御書付
産穢・忌中などの面々より、差し合い（差し障り）以前に差し越した書状については、
忌明けまでは差し控え置き、いかなる件の書状であっても、産穢・忌中につき、追って差し出すべき旨、その節、留守居の者より相届けるべく候。
但し、注進状の類については、先例によって産穢・忌中にも差し出すことができるものについては、只今の通りとすべきこと。
一、十月四日
大猷院様百回御忌の御法事が相済んだことのお祝儀として御能が行われるにつき、御使者として御留守居・加藤長右衛門（正敏）をもって鮮鯛一折を献上された（去る二日に御触れ達あり）。
御城の桧の間において、御奏者番・太田摂津守（資俊）殿が披露した。

Note: Regarding travel permits (tegata) for passage through the Yokogawa Checkpoint, a seal (inkan) of the mansion administrator identical to the above was dispatched; however, the exact date is not known.
Item: On the last day of the 9th month, the duty magistrate (goyōban) Hotta Sagami-no-Kami (Masasuke)-dono summoned the resident representatives (rusuī) of Matsudaira Kaga-no-Kami-dono, Matsudaira Chikuzen-no-Kami-dono, and Matsudaira Daizenno-daibu-sama, and issued the following written directive, which was subsequently circulated to said resident representatives:

Regarding letters that were previously sent by persons currently in a state of ritual impurity due to childbirth (san'e) or mourning (imchū):
Until the mourning period has concluded, such correspondence is to be held back; regardless of the matter at hand, the resident representative (rusuī) is to notify the relevant parties that, due to the sender's state of ritual impurity, the letter will be submitted in due course.
Note: Regarding urgent dispatches (chūshin-jō) and similar communications, those which, by established precedent, have been permitted to be sent even during periods of ritual impurity shall continue to be handled in the same manner as before.
Item: On the 4th day of the 10th month:
As a celebration marking the completion of the 100th memorial service (hyakkaki) for Lord Taiyūin (the third Tokugawa Shogun, Iemitsu), a Noh performance was held. The resident representative Katō Chōzaemon (Masatoshi) was dispatched as envoy to present one box of fresh sea bream (senzai hitoori) as an offering. (Notice was issued on the 2nd of the preceding month.)
The presentation was made at Hinoki-no-Ma (the Cypress Room) in the castle, with the shogunal announcer (sōjaban) Ōta Settsu-no-Kami (Suketoshi)-dono presiding over the formal reception.
