公方様へ御国産の塩鮎子籠（五十）一箱を献上された。御側衆・巨勢大和守（利啓）殿より、後刻に披露を遂げるべき旨を申し聞かされた。
大納言様へも、御使者として同人をもって右と同様のものを献上された。御側衆・水野丹波守殿より、後刻に披露を遂げるべき旨を申し聞かされた。
一、十月十五日、御老中・堀田相模守（正亮）殿が来春に日光への御登山（社参）を行うにつき、御城坊主・北川保久仙をもって、御内々に御馬（御目録）を贈られた。
一、同月二十一日、運正寺において、去る十九日の宵より今朝まで（二夜三日）、徳正院様の御一周忌の御法事が執り行われた。天徳寺においても同様に執り行われた。
一、同月二十九日、御側衆・大岡出雲守（忠光）殿へ、御用人・大道寺孫九郎（繁卿）が罷り出て、御縁組の御達書をもって御内談に及んだところ、随分よろしかろうとの旨を申し聞かされ、御達書はそのまま留め置かれた。
但し、右の御達書については、来たる十一月二十三日の条に記されている。
一、十一月朔日、左の通り仰せ出だされた趣を、御目付どもより江戸御屋敷・御番組の面々へ相達した。
最前より度々仰せ出だされた通り、衣類の儀については、御番・御使者などの節においても粗服を用いても構わない。且つまた、参会などの節には、随分と軽くすべきこと。もっとも、他所の者が参会したりと（以下次頁へ続く）

The resident representative presented one box of locally produced salted sweetfish roe baskets (fifty in number) to the Kubō-sama (the Shogun). The senior chamberlain (sobashū) Kose Yamato-no-Kami (Toshihiro)-dono conveyed that the presentation would be formally received at a later time.
To the Dainagon-sama (the Senior Counselor / Lord of high court rank), the same envoy presented an identical gift. The senior chamberlain Mizuno Tamba-no-Kami-dono conveyed that the presentation would likewise be formally received at a later time.
Item: On the 15th day of the 10th month, as the Senior Elder (rōjū) Hotta Sagami-no-Kami (Masasuke)-dono was to make a pilgrimage (tossan) to Nikkō the following spring, a horse was presented to him discreetly through the castle monk (gojōbōzu) Kitagawa Hokyūsen, along with a gift inventory (meiroku).
Item: On the 21st day of the same month, at Unshōji temple, the first anniversary memorial service (ichishūki hōji) for Tokushōin-sama was held from the evening of the 19th through the morning of the 21st (spanning two nights and three days). A similar service was also conducted at Tentokuji temple.
Item: On the 29th day of the same month, the household administrator (goyōnin) Daidōji Magokurō (Shigenori) called upon the senior chamberlain Ōoka Izumo-no-Kami (Tadamitsu)-dono and, presenting a formal marriage proposal document (odashifumi), entered into a private consultation. He was told that the proposal seemed quite favorable, and the document was retained by the chamberlain.
Note: The aforementioned formal proposal document is recorded in the entry for the 23rd day of the coming 11th month.
Item: On the 1st day of the 11th month, the following directive was issued and conveyed by the inspectors (metsuke) to the members of the guard units (obangumi) stationed at the Edo mansion:
As has been repeatedly decreed previously, regarding clothing: even during guard duty or when serving as envoys, the use of plain, simple garments (sōfuku) is entirely permissible. Furthermore, on occasions of gatherings and meetings, matters should be conducted as simply as possible. This applies even when persons from other establishments attend such gatherings...
