大御所様へ、塩鱈（五本）を御内々に御献上するにつき、御側衆・小笠原石見守（正登）殿の家来まで、御留守居・津田九右衛門（盛恕）の手紙を添え、御徒の者をもって持たせ遣わした。
一、十一月二十三日、尾張中納言（宗勝）様より、御家老・竹腰山城守をもって、御用番・本多伯耆守（正珍）殿へ、御縁組の御伺いを、以下の通り差し出された由。
尾張殿の息女の儀、相応の者がおれば縁組を
仰せ付け下さるよう致したく存じ候。右の段、
宜しく頼み入り存じ候。
十一月二十三日
尾張殿の息女と、松平於義丸との縁約の儀、
内々に存じ寄りなきの由、先達って内意を
申し達し置いた候通りにございます。

一、同日、御用番・本多伯耆守（正珍）殿へ、御先手・小笠原縫殿助殿をもって、御縁組の御達書を差し出した。

Regarding the discreet presentation (onainaі goкenjō) of five salted codfish (shio-tara) to the Ōgosho-sama [the retired lord], they were sent by means of a footman-attendant (okachinoмono), accompanied by a letter from the domain's Edo resident deputy (orusuі) Tsuda Kuuremon (Morihiro), addressed to the household staff of the senior chamberlain (sobashū) Ogasawara Iwami-no-Kami (Masanori)-dono.
Item: On the 23rd day of the 11th month, it is reported that through his chief elder (karō) Takenokoši Yamashiro-no-Kami, the Owari Middle Counselor (Chūnagon) (Munekatsu)-sama submitted the following marriage inquiry (okotowari-ukagai) to the duty elder (goyōban) Honda Hōki-no-Kami (Masayoshi)-dono:
We wish to request that, should there be a
suitable match, a marriage alliance be arranged
for the daughter of Owari-dono. We humbly
ask that this matter be received favorably.

As was already conveyed informally on a
previous occasion, it is understood that there
is no private objection whatsoever to a
betrothal between the daughter of Owari-dono
and Matsudaira Yoshimaru.

Item: On the same day, through the vanguard commander (osaki-te) Ogasawara Nuinosuke-dono, the following formal marriage notification document (odashifumi) was submitted to the duty elder Honda Hōki-no-Kami (Masayoshi)-dono:
Regarding the marriage arrangement between
the daughter of Owari Chūnagon-dono and
myself: during the lifetime of my adoptive
father Hyōbu-no-Taifu, this matter had already
been discussed privately and informally at an
earlier date. I hereby respectfully bring this
to your attention for the record.
