〔黄金十両〕・昆布一箱・塩鯛一箱・御樽一荷、中将（宗睦）様へ御太刀一腰・御馬代〔黄金十両〕・塩鯛一箱を進められたところ、御料理等を下されて後、中納言様・中将様より御直答があり、中納言様より御手ずから御長鮑を下された。
一、同日、右と同断につき、尾張中納言（宗勝）様より御使者・大寄合・河村半左衛門をもって、御太刀一腰・御馬代〔黄金十両〕・昆布一箱・塩鯛一箱・御樽一荷、中将（宗睦）様よりは御使者・大番頭・上野小左衛門をもって、御太刀一腰・御馬代〔黄金十両〕・塩鯛一箱を進められた。半左衛門・小左衛門の両人にお逢いになり、御直答され、御手ずから御長鮑を下された。
一、同日、右の御祝儀を御取替えし、首尾よく相済んだことにつき、尾張中納言（宗勝）様・中将（宗睦）様より御挨拶として、この御屋形へ御使者〔御書院番頭格の者両人〕が差し越された。右の御挨拶に対し、尾張様へ御使者・御書院番頭・嶋田清左衛門（繁卿）が差し遣わされた。
一、十二月十八日、福次郎（堅房）様が諸大夫に叙爵され、日向守と御改名になったことへの御礼として、御用番・松平右近将監（武元）殿、大御所様御付御老中・西尾隠岐守（忠尚）殿、大納言様御付御老中・秋元但馬守（涼朝）殿へ御使者・御使番が差し出された。
一、同月十九日、寒中につき、御使者をもって例のとおり御国産〔一番〕生鱈が献上された。
一、同日、右と同断につき、御機嫌を御伺いするため、御内証より女使・崎尾をもって、初めて公方様・大納言様へ御国産・干鱈〔五枚〕一箱ずつが献上された。〔去る五日に御伺い済み〕
大御所様へは女使・八十田をもって、右と同断のものが献上された。

...[yellow gold, ten ryō], one box of kelp (konbu), one box of salted sea bream (shio-tai), and one cask of sake (otaru); to Lord Chūjō (Munemitsu), one ceremonial sword (otachi), a sum in lieu of a horse [yellow gold, ten ryō], and one box of salted sea bream. After these were presented, refreshments and dishes were served, following which Lord Chūnagon and Lord Chūjō gave their personal replies (jikitō). Lord Chūnagon personally presented a gift of large abalone (nagaawabi) by his own hand.
1. On the same day, for the same purpose, Lord Owari Chūnagon (Munekatsu) dispatched his envoy, Ōyoriai Kawamura Hanzaemon, presenting one ceremonial sword, a sum in lieu of a horse [yellow gold, ten ryō], one box of kelp, one box of salted sea bream, and one cask of sake. Lord Chūjō (Munemitsu) dispatched his envoy, Senior Guard Commander (Ōbangashira) Ueno Kozaemon, presenting one ceremonial sword, a sum in lieu of a horse [yellow gold, ten ryō], and one box of salted sea bream. Both Hanzaemon and Kozaemon were received in personal audience, personal replies (jikitō) were given, and large abalone was personally presented to each by hand.

On the same day, as the exchange of congratulatory gifts in connection with the aforementioned marriage arrangement had been successfully concluded, Lord Owari Chūnagon (Munekatsu) and Lord Chūjō (Munemitsu) each dispatched an envoy [two men of the rank of Senior Chamberlain Commander (gosho'inbangashira-kaku)] to this residence (oyakata) as an expression of courtesy. In response, Senior Chamberlain Commander Shimada Seizaemon (Shigeaki) was dispatched as envoy to the Owari residence.

On the 18th day of the 12th month, as Fukujirō (Katafusa) had been invested in court rank (joshaku) as a shoshidaibu and had taken the new name Hyūga-no-Kami, envoys (otsukaiban) were dispatched to offer congratulations to the duty councillor Matsudaira Ukon-shōgen (Takemoto), the Senior Councillor attached to the Lord Retired Shōgun (Ōgosho) Nishio Oki-no-Kami (Tadanao), and the Senior Councillor attached to Lord Great Counselor (Dainagon) Akimoto Tajima-no-Kami (Suzutomo).
1. On the 19th day of the same month, it being midwinter, an envoy was dispatched and local produce [first quality] of fresh cod (namatara) was presented as customary.

On the same day, for the same purpose, in order to inquire after the wellbeing of the recipients, female messenger (nyoshi) Sakio was dispatched from the inner household (gonaishō) to present, for the first time, one box each of local produce — dried cod (hidara, five pieces) — to the Shōgun (Kubō-sama) and the Lord Great Counselor (Dainagon-sama). [This had been approved by inquiry on the 5th of last month.]
To the Lord Retired Shōgun (Ōgosho-sama), female messenger Yasoda was dispatched with the same items.
