一、右両通の内、跡の一通は差し控え候様、田沼主殿頭殿、御内意これあるにつき、初めの一通のみ、相模守殿へ差し出し之。
一、十二月二十六日、御国産〔二番〕生鱈、御献上成られず候につき、御用番酒井右衛門尉〔忠寄〕殿へ、御使者、御留守居横田作大夫〔尚道〕をもって、御届け書差し出され之。
拙者領内の生鱈、寒中両度致し献上候につき、当十九日、国元差し立て候処、山中深雪ゆえ手間取り、今晩到着致し候得共、道中にて損じ申し候につき、差し上げ申さず候。右御届けのため、使者をもって申し達し候。以上。

[Continued from previous page] ...there may well be matters that, once he has come of age, he himself would find difficult to raise on his own behalf. Should that come to pass, it would be most grievous to think that Hyōbu-no-Taifu's cherished wishes might come to nothing. It is for this reason that, with all due deference, the house elders now jointly and confidentially submit this petition. If a favorable directive could in any way be graciously issued in this matter, it would be an honor beyond all measure, for which we would be most deeply grateful. Respectfully submitted.

Note: The above petition from the house elders was submitted today to Senior Councilor Hotta, Lord of Sagami-no-Kami; however, as it was identical in content to the written memorandum submitted for the private perusal of the Lord of Izumo-no-Kami, it is not separately recorded here.
Item: As it was the private intention of Tanuma, Lord of Tonomo-no-Kami, that the second of the two copies be withheld, only the first copy was submitted to the Lord of Sagami-no-Kami.
Item: On the twenty-sixth day of the twelfth month, as the second-batch fresh cod — a regional product of the domain — could not be presented as an offering, a written notification was submitted to the duty Senior Councilor Sakai Uemon-no-Jō [Tadayori], through the agency of the official castle representative Yokota Sakudayū [Naomichi].
As the fresh cod from this domain's territory was to be offered twice during the cold season, it was dispatched from the home domain on the nineteenth of this month; however, due to deep snow in the mountains, its progress was delayed, and although it arrived this evening, the fish had spoiled during the journey, and accordingly it was not presented. This notification is hereby conveyed through a messenger. Respectfully submitted.
