**[Right folio]** A message was sent requesting attendance, but it was delayed. Nevertheless, as the illness was serious, Lord Date Nakatsukasa took charge of the matter, and consultations were conducted with Lord Izumo and Lord (Tsuda) Matajirō. Furthermore, Lord Ayukai Tarōhei was also in attendance, and when asked about the details surrounding the succession of Lord Assist-Saburō (助三郎様) and the Koyanagawa estate, the matter was explained in full detail. It was then determined, in accordance with the wishes expressed, that Lord Assist-Saburō's second son should succeed to the estate. The consultations having concluded, Lord Genmba also came to this residence at around half past the ninth hour of the night (approximately 9 p.m.), and spoke of the above matter, stating that Lord Assist-Saburō's second son, Lord Tadanosuke, **[Left folio]** was to be adopted as a son-in-law. Lord Assist-Saburō's retainer, Akasaka Shichirōzaemon, was summoned, and Lord Itō Nakatsukasa himself conveyed his private intentions through Shichirōzaemon. Subsequently, at around half past the fourth hour of the night (approximately 11 p.m.), the matter was raised through Lord Izumi Izumo and Lord Hamada Gorō. Lord Assist-Saburō duly met with them and indicated that he found the proposal reasonable, but as he had two sons who were still young, he could not yet make a definitive decision, and offered this as his response. It was then suggested that Lord Ōmachi Shōgen's second son might be designated as successor, but as Lord Shōgen was currently at Nikkō, no inquiry could be made. Therefore, Lord Ayukai Hyōgo's second son was [proposed]...
