（鮎貝兵庫様の御二男）世次郎様を養子に迎えたい旨を、鮎貝太郎平様を通じてお伝えしたところ、高泉杢之允の弟と荒井権之助の弟がいて、（助三郎様との）血縁の近さも世次郎様よりも近いので、それを差し置いて私の次男ではお引き受けできないとのお断りがございました。高泉杢之允様はご在所におられるため、ご相談もできません。そこで荒井権之助様の弟・山三郎様を（養子に）立てようということになり、さっそく太郎平様へお頼みして、権之助様にご出席いただくようお伝えしたところ、二十二日の夜明けに権之助様がお越しになり、伊東中務様とご相談・ご審議が整いました。こちら（小梁川）からは出雲様・玄蕃様の連名でご願書をご宿老様へ

提出したところ、双方の連名をもって御奉行衆へ提出するようにとのお返事がまいりましたので、大浪四郎五郎様を通じて、以下の文言にて、御親類一同の事が二十二日に取り纏まりました。

Regarding the desire to install Sejirō-sama as an adoptive heir (the second son of Ayakai Hyōgo-sama), a message was sent through Ayakai Tarōhei-sama. However, the reply came back that both the younger brother of Takasumi Mokunoijō and the younger brother of Arai Gonnosuke were closer in kinship (to Asaburō-sama) than Sejirō-sama, and that it would not be appropriate to pass over them in favor of my own second son. As Takasumi Mokunoijō-sama was residing in his home domain, consultation with him was not possible. It was therefore decided that Sanzaburō-sama, the younger brother of Arai Gonnosuke-sama, would be installed as the adoptive heir. A request was accordingly sent through Tarōhei-sama for Gonnosuke-sama to attend, and on the morning of the 22nd, Gonnosuke-sama came forth, and the consultation with Itō Nakatsukasa-sama was concluded. From our side (Koyanagawa), a joint petition signed by Izumo-sama and Genba-sama was submitted to the Senior Councilors (Shurō).

A reply came that it should be submitted to the Magistrates (Bugyō) with the joint signatures of both parties. Therefore, through Ōnami Shirōgorō-sama, the matter among the relatives was settled on the 22nd, worded as follows.
