現代語訳

一、同日、右の件につき東叡山辺で出火の節の御出馬の儀について、御用番本多中務大輔忠良殿へ使者として御留守居浅井源左衛門政之により、左の通り御伺い書を差し出した。

口上覚え書き
私の妻女が病気で養生も叶わず今月八日に死去し、忌中に罷り在ります。東叡山辺で火事が起こった節には、家来の者を指し出すべきでしょうか。お伺いいたします。以上

ただし、右の通り差し出したところ、翌九日に御人数のみを指し出すべき旨、
若し大火または出火の状況により御出馬なさるべき旨、御附札をもって御指図があった。

一、五月九日、右の件につき上使をもって御中で御尋ねがあり、御先例はあるかと昨夜御用番本多中務大輔忠良殿の用人より御留守居浅井源左衛門政之へ申し聞かせがあったため、左の通り御先例書を御留守居が持参し差し出した。

寛文十一辛亥年三月二十八日、松平越前守光通の妻が死去した節、御尋ねのため四月二日に上使として伊豫守様が御出になられた。右の越前守の妻女は同氏越後守光長の

1. On the same day, regarding the above matter, concerning deployment in case of fire around Tōeizan, an inquiry document was submitted as follows through messenger and deputy steward Asai Genzaemon Masayuki to duty officer Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu Tadayoshi:

Verbal Memorandum
My wife fell ill and could not recover despite treatment, passing away on the 8th of this month, and I am currently in mourning. Should I dispatch retainers in case of fire around Tōeizan? I humbly inquire. Above.

However, after submitting the above, on the following 9th day, instructions were given via an attached note that only personnel should be dispatched,
and that deployment should be made depending on whether it is a major fire or the circumstances of the outbreak.

1. On the 9th day of the 5th month, regarding the above matter, an inquiry was made through an emissary asking whether there was precedent. Last night, a retainer of duty officer Honda Nakatsukasa-no-taifu Tadayoshi informed deputy steward Asai Genzaemon Masayuki, so the following precedent document was brought and submitted by the deputy steward:

In the 11th year of Kanbun, year of the Metal Boar, on the 28th day of the 3rd month, when Matsudaira Echizen-no-kami Mitsumichi's wife died, Lord Iyo-no-kami came as an emissary for inquiry on the 2nd day of the 4th month.
