一 五月十一日 上志使五奏者番朽木土佐守 殿を以五円忠 御尋
有之 上使御越之節御玄関中仕切之内 御出 御案
内ニ而御書院江御通 上意之趣御達有之 御引被成候節
溝口源左衛門 殿と左守殿江此節右御茶も不被指上候旨御拶
有之相済再 御土産御請被 仰上相済御退出之節最前
御出之所迄御送被成右御礼之儀此中ゟ御不快御達有之
ニ付為御名代大和守 様御老中御回勤被成
但右御名代御回勤之儀ニ付 上使御帰後御用番幷
西丸御老中江御使者御留守居を以御口上書被指で之
一 同月十三日 初姫様御逝去ニ付江戸表ゟ之早駈御使御側
物頭長谷部小右衛門記連副使大御番松江大之進今日到着月

一、五月十一日、上使として奏者番朽木土佐守殿をもって御尋ねがあった。上使が御越しになった節、御玄関中仕切りの内に御出になり、御案内により御書院へ御通りになった。上意の趣旨について御達しがあり、御引きになられた節、溝口源左衛門殿と左守殿へこの節右の御茶も差し上げられない旨の御挨拶があって相済み、再び御土産を御請けになって仰せ上げられ相済み、御退出の節は最前に御出になった所まで御送りになられた。右の御礼の儀について、この中より御不快との御達しがあったため、御名代として大和守様が御老中への御回勤をなされた。
ただし右の御名代御回勤の儀について、上使御帰り後、御用番並びに西丸御老中へ使者として御留守居をもって御口上書を差し出された。
一、同月十三日、初姫様御逝去につき江戸表からの早駈け御使として御側物頭長谷部小右衛門記連、副使大御番松江大之進が今日到着し、月番御家老岡部左膳起平の宅へ御奏者番並河一九郎久中が同道して罷り越し相達した。
ただし右につき御家中の面々へ御触れがあった。
同日、右の件につき御機嫌伺いのため御国許より大御番熊谷小兵衛元敷

1. On the 11th day of the 5th month, an inquiry was made through an emissary, Announcer Kuchiki Tosa-no-kami. When the emissary arrived, [the lord] came out to the partitioned area within the entrance hall, and through guidance went to the reception hall. The purport of the shogun's intention was conveyed, and when withdrawing, greetings were exchanged with Mizoguchi Genzaemon and Saemon, stating that tea could not be offered at this time. This was concluded, gifts were again received and acknowledged, and when departing, [the lord] escorted [the emissary] to where he had first appeared. Regarding the matter of thanks for this, because word was received of [the lord's] indisposition, Yamato-no-kami served as representative to make courtesy visits to the senior councilors.
However, regarding this representative courtesy visit, after the emissary's return, a verbal statement was submitted through the deputy steward as messenger to the duty officer and the senior councilors of Nishinomaru.
1. On the 13th of the same month, regarding the passing of Princess Hatsu, express messengers from Edo - chief retainer Hasebe Koemon Kiren and deputy chief guard Matsue Dainoshin - arrived today. Monthly duty senior retainer Okabe Sazen Okitaira, accompanied by announcer Namikawa Ichikurō Hisanaka, went to his residence and conveyed [the news].
However, regarding the above, announcements were made to all members of the household.
