○術に云う：中積を列して、交応（二十六万〇一百八十七分八十六秒）を加え入れ、内より天正閏余を減じ、余が交終日（二十七日二千一百二十二分二十四秒）に満ちれば之を去り、十一月の没日を得る。策朔（二十九万五千三百〇五分九十三秒）を以てこれに加え入れ、交終日に満ちれば之を去り、
十二月の没日とする。逐次このように加減して十月の没日に至るまで行う。
陳云う：昨（前年）の十一月より今（当年）の十月の没日に至るまで、術に依りてこれを求めると、すなわち二月・八月の両朔が食の日である。ゆえに二月・八月両月の諸具（諸計算値）を左のように求める。

○ The method states: Arrange the "accumulated middle" (zhōngjī / 中積), add the "intersection epoch" (jiāoyìng / 交応, which is 260,187 fen 86 miao), subtract from it the "Heavenly Correct intercalary remainder" (tiānzhèng rùnyú / 天正閏余); when the remainder fills a complete "intersection cycle" (jiāozhōng rì / 交終日, i.e., 27 days, 2,122 fen 24 miao), remove it, and thereby obtain the "missing day" (没日) of the 11th month. Using the "syzygy cycle" (cèshuò / 策朔, which is 295,305 fen 93 miao), add it in; when it fills a complete intersection cycle, remove it,
and this becomes the "missing day" of the 12th month. Proceed sequentially in this manner, adding and subtracting, until reaching the "missing day" of the 10th month.
Chen states: Proceeding from last year's 11th month through to the current year's 10th month's "missing days," and seeking these according to the method, it is found that the new moon days (shuò) of the 2nd month and the 8th month are the eclipse days. Therefore, the various calculated values (諸具) for the 2nd and 8th months are sought as shown on the left.
