○The method states: Set out the accumulated total (通積, tōseki), subtract the Tensei intercalary remainder (天正閏余) from within, then remove the remainder by the sexagenary cycle unit of 600,000 until it cannot be divided further. Take the remaining value, treating every 10,000 units as one day, to obtain the Mean New Moon (経朔) of the eleventh month. Add the New Moon interval (朔策) of 295,305 fen 93 miao, and when it reaches the nodal cycle (交終日) of 27 days 2,122 fen 24 miao, remove it, making it the Mean New Moon of the twelfth month. Proceed in this manner, adding and subtracting successively, until reaching the eighth month.

Take the remaining value as the entry into the anomalistic cycle (入転日) for the eleventh month. Add the anomalistic difference (転差) of 1 day 9,759 fen 93 miao; when it reaches the anomalistic period, remove it, obtaining the entry into the anomalistic cycle for the twelfth month. Proceed in this manner, adding and subtracting successively, until reaching the eighth month.
