陳（注釈者）曰く：「度」も「日」もともに一位（ひとつの単位）である。常に万をもって日・度の基準とする。縮差・盈差の商を得るには、億をもって度とする。度は一位であるから、商が億に満たない場合はこれを分・秒とする。したがって盈縮差の商が千万であれば、これを「十分」と命ずる。初限・末限の場合も同様である。

○ The method states: When entering the ying-suo calendar (盈縮暦), if the value falls at or below the initial limit of "ying" / final limit of "suo," it is designated as the initial limit. If it exceeds this, subtract from the half-year cycle (182 days, 6,212.5 fen) and stop. The remainder is designated as the final limit. When entering under "suo," if it falls at or below the initial limit of "suo" / final limit of "ying," it is designated as the initial limit. I. Ying-Suo Difference (盈縮差, the equation of center)
2nd month, "ying" difference: 2 degrees, 39 fen, 08 seconds

Chen [the commentator] states: "Degree" (度) and "day" (日) are each a single unit. One always uses 10,000 (万) as the base unit for days and degrees. To obtain the quotient for the suo or ying difference, one uses 100,000,000 (億) as the unit of degrees. Since a degree is a single unit, if the quotient does not reach 100,000,000, it is treated as fen (分) or seconds (秒). Therefore, if the quotient of the ying-suo difference is 10,000,000 (千万), it is designated as "10 fen." The same applies in the case of initial and final limits.
