諸友の間に散在しているものを聞き知っている方も、また少なくはないでしょう。諸君子が幸いにも書き写してお送りくださるならば、どうして新たに賜り物を受けたのと同じにとどまりましょうか（それ以上の喜びです）。これがこの詩編を上梓せずにはいられない所以でもあります。粗雑で読みにくい点については、あわせてご添削のほどお願い申し上げます。戊午年（1798年）晩冬（十二月）八日、識す。

【詩一】大石良雄の故宅の桜花に題して寄す
この人は並ぶ者なき士（さむらい）、この花は世に類なき芳しさ。千秋の後まで偉大な功績を留め、一本の樹は残り香を護る。諸葛孔明の廟前の柏の木のように、召公（しょうこう）の宿った甘棠（かんとう）の木のように。深くその情を欽（うやま）えばこそ、ただ春の光を賞でるばかりではないのだ。

【詩二】松平丹後守候が封地を継いで小島へ帰還されるのをお送り申し上げる詩、五首
〔其一〕
車騎は都城を発し、はるかな千里の道を行く。吟じる思いに秋の気が突然動き、涼しい気配が夕暮れに初めて生まれる。山水は関を過ぎて麗しく、松と竹林は城郭に帰って清らかだ。歓声は至る所から湧き起こり、万人が跪いて拝して迎える。
〔其二〕
岳南（山の南）の雄大で盛んな地、諸侯は封境を接して並ぶ。人煙（人家の煙）は富み栄えているとわかり、時の稲作は豊穣と見える。治めるに大小の別なく、事を任ずるには従順で善良であることが要（かなめ）。初めての政道は先代の偉業を継ぎ、良い名声は四方に広まるだろう。
〔其三〕
詩書をもって政教を宣べ広め、海上の日は朝霞に美しく映える。賢く優れた方が名門の家に生まれ（公は実に雲藩公の子息で、小島の封を継いで出られた）、ご先祖への勲労の思いは故家を偲ぶ。民のために苦しみを除き、法を簡素にして贅沢な乱れを禁じる。仁風が広まるのを立って待てば、南の空はひとしきり遥かに広がる。
〔其四〕
言葉を語ることも黙することも風化（教化）に関わり、東西の人々は徳の輝きを仰ぐ。弦歌（礼楽）の治はまことに楽しむべきであり、杯酒を傾ける機会も多かろうが、よもや（違）。疾病は軽々しくなおざりにしてはなりません。臣民の庶幾（ねがい）するところを、言を献じるに私はどうして敢えてせずにいられましょうか。善く聴き容れてくださること、公のような方は稀です。
〔其五〕
良き縁は天より借り受けたもの、遥かに韓（かん）に初めてお目にかかった頃を思う。八歳（はたち？）より恩露を沐し、百たびも直筆のお手紙の光栄に浴した。空虚な胸中に富貴を忘れ、広大な器量は狂疎（おのれの放漫）を叱咤してくださった。今日、公のお車をお送りしながら、佇みてしみじみと感慨尽きることがない。

There may be no small number among my friends who have heard of the poems scattered among them. Should the gentlemen be so kind as to copy and send them back to me, would it not be more than merely receiving a new gift? This is the reason why this collection could not but be published. As for the roughness and difficulty of reading, I humbly request your corrections as well. Written on the eighth day of late winter, in the year Tsuchinoe-Uma (1798).

**[Poem 1] Inscribed and sent regarding the cherry blossoms at the former residence of Ōishi Yoshio**
This man was a peerless warrior; these blossoms have a fragrance unmatched in the world.
For a thousand autumns his great deeds shall remain; a single tree guards the lingering fragrance.
Like the cypress before Zhuge Liang's shrine, like the sweet pear tree where the Duke of Shao rested—
It is profound veneration that moves my heart thus; it is not merely the spring light that I admire.

[Poem i]
The carriages and cavalry depart from the capital city, traveling far along a thousand-li road.
Poetic thoughts are suddenly stirred by autumn, a cool sensation arising at dusk for the first time.
Mountains and waters are lovely as they pass the checkpoint; pines and bamboo groves are pure as he returns to the castle town.
Sounds of rejoicing well up everywhere; ten thousand people bow in prostration to welcome him.
[Poem ii]
The southern foot of the mountains—a magnificent and flourishing land; the lords' domains are bordered side by side.
The hearth-smoke of the people tells of their prosperity; the season's harvest appears abundant.
In governance, there is no distinction between great and small; in discharging one's duties, docility and goodness are the key.
His first administration continues the great deeds of his predecessor; good reputation shall spread to all four quarters.

Poetry and the classics shall declare the governance and education; the sun over the sea shines gloriously through the morning haze.
A wise and excellent man is born of illustrious lineage *(note: the lord is truly the son of the lord of Unnan domain, who has come forth to inherit the domain of Ojima)*;
Thinking of meritorious service, he pines for his ancestral home.
He removes suffering and hardship from the people; simplifying law, he prohibits extravagance and disorder.
Standing in wait for the benevolent winds to spread, the southern sky stretches far and wide in a single glance.

Whether one speaks or stays silent, it bears upon the transformation of customs; east and west, all look up to the radiance of your virtue.
The governance of music and ritual is truly to be enjoyed; though occasions for wine are many — yet take care.
Do not treat illness carelessly or lightly. As for the hopes of your subjects and people,
I dare not refrain from offering these words. One who listens well as you do is rare.

This good bond was lent by Heaven; I think back fondly on when I first came to know you.
From the age of eight I have bathed in the dew of your favor; a hundred times I have been honored by your handwritten letters.
In my humble heart I forgot about wealth and rank; your great magnanimity chided my own wild and careless ways.
Today, as I send off your lordship's carriage, I linger and find my emotions beyond measure.
