法として、長さ三尺三寸三分三厘三糸に横八寸を掛けると二六六六六六・四となる。これに厚さ一寸五分を掛けて（坪数を）求める。

《題：三角丸長物（三角形と半円を組み合わせた長物の計算）》
この坪 四百〔零〕〔零〕五分
法として、長さ四尺八寸一分七厘一毛に横一尺を掛けると四百八十一坪七分一厘となる。同じく一尺四寸一分四厘二毛に横一尺の半分（すなわち端数を捨て）五寸を掛けると七十〔零〕坪七分一厘となる。
また、上部の丸（半円）は、一尺の指渡し（直径）のものであるから、百坪となるところを、円法（×0.79）を適用すると七十九坪となる。これより二十一坪を引く。これは丸の半分であるから、すなわち十坪五分となる。右の分（七十〔零〕坪七分一厘）よりこれを引く。
二口合わせて八十一坪二分一厘。下の三角と上の丸の坪数を（全体より）引くと、残りは四百坪〔零〕〔零〕となる。

As the method: multiply the length of 4 shaku 8 sun 1 bu 7 rin 1 mō by a width of 1 shaku to obtain 481 tsubo 7 bu 1 rin. Likewise, multiply 1 shaku 4 sun 1 bu 4 rin 2 mō by half of the 1-shaku width (i.e., discarding the remainder, taking 5 sun) to obtain 70 tsubo 7 bu 1 rin.
Furthermore, the upper round portion (semicircle), being an object with a diameter (sashi-watashi) of 1 shaku, would be 100 tsubo; applying the circular coefficient (×0.79), it becomes 79 tsubo. Subtracting 21 tsubo from this: since this is half of the circle, it becomes 10 tsubo 5 bu. Subtracting this amount from the above figure (70 tsubo 7 bu 1 rin):
Combining the two figures, the total is 81 tsubo 2 bu 1 rin. Subtracting the tsubo of the lower triangle and the upper circle from the whole, the remainder is 400 tsubo [even].
