〔角材の坪数〕一万五千二百坪
法として、下の二尺四寸に上の一尺二寸を掛け合わせると二八八（二百八十八）となる。下の一尺八寸に上の一尺六寸を掛けると二八八ある。下の二尺四寸に一尺八寸を掛けると四三二。上の一尺六寸に一尺二寸を掛けると一九二。右の二八八を二つ合わせると五七六。これを二つに割ると二八八。〔これに〕四三二〔と〕一九二を三口合わせると九二〔二百五十六？〕となる。〔九二を二つ〕合わせて九一二（？）ある。長さ五尺を掛けると四万五千六百坪を

As the method: Multiplying the lower [dimension of] 2 *shaku* 4 *sun* by the upper [dimension of] 1 *shaku* 2 *sun* gives 288. Multiplying the lower 1 *shaku* 8 *sun* by the upper 1 *shaku* 6 *sun* also gives 288. Multiplying the lower 2 *shaku* 4 *sun* by 1 *shaku* 8 *sun* gives 432. Multiplying the upper 1 *shaku* 6 *sun* by 1 *shaku* 2 *sun* gives 192. Adding the two instances of 288 together gives 576; dividing by two gives 288.
