〔前ページより続き〕三寸を掛けると四十八坪になる。これを二つに割ると二十四坪。右の九千八百十六坪六合六勺に掛けると二十三万五千六百坪になる。
また、末（上端）の厚さ一尺二寸に同所の矢（サジタ）二寸を掛けると二十四坪になる。これを右の四十八坪に加えると七十二坪。これを目安（基準値）として、二十三万五千六百坪を割ると、本坪（真の体積）三千二百七十二坪二合二勺を知る。

[Continuing from the previous page:] Multiplying by 3 *sun* gives 48 *tsubo*. Dividing this by two gives 24 *tsubo*. Multiplying this by the aforementioned 9,816 *tsubo* 6 *gō* 6 *shaku* gives 235,600 *tsubo*.
Furthermore, multiplying the upper-end thickness of 1 *shaku* 2 *sun* by the sagitta (*ya*) of 2 *sun* at the same location gives 24 *tsubo*. Adding this to the aforementioned 48 *tsubo* gives 72 *tsubo*. Using this as the reference value (*meyasu*), dividing 235,600 *tsubo* by it gives the true volume (*hon-tsubo*) of 3,272 *tsubo* 2 *gō* 2 *shaku*.
