**Written Report Concerning Fire-Suppression Operations During the Great Fire in the City of Osaka**
Locations [where fire-suppression activities were conducted]:
Uchihommachi 3-chōme — from the north side, eastern corner
Tarōzaemon-machi — northwest corner
Uchihommachi-kami 3-chōme, Tanimachi-suji — west side and east corner
Oyumi-chō — from the residence of Yamada Yosuke northward to the town houses
Regarding the above: as a great fire broke out in Tenma on the morning of the 19th of last month, we received instructions on the morning of the following 20th, through coordination with the Inspector (metsuke) Nakagawa Hanzaemon, to mobilize rural laborers and undertake fire-suppression operations throughout the city. Accordingly, our personnel were

assembled and led forth together with Hanzaemon to the locations noted in this document, where the fire was contained, and the blaze was finally extinguished at Oyumi-chō at around the Hour of the Bells and a Half (approximately 11 p.m.) that same night. We hereby submit this report. Respectfully.
