**Written Report Concerning the Arrest of Members of the Conspiracy and Those Who Joined the Rebels**

The above individual was arrested on the night of the 20th of this month and subjected to preliminary questioning. It was determined that in the early part of this month, at the residence of Ōshio Heihachirō,

a written document was read aloud to those gathered, the preamble of which stated: "As this is an enterprise to bring about an age [of good governance], spanning from civil [literary] matters to military [martial] matters, you shall in no way act contrary to the instructions of the Sensei [Ōshio]." Thereupon, at Heihachirō's behest, Yokoyama Bunji drew up [the document] on his own authority, and [the assembled persons] affixed their blood seals. It was further stated that, prior to this, Genemon and Denshichi of Hannyaji Village had also co-signed the document. On the basis of this testimony, [the suspect] was ordered imprisoned.
