右の者どもを当月二十日より二十四日にかけて次々と召し捕り、一通りの吟味（取り調べ）を行ったところ、大塩平八郎方において砂持（土砂運搬の労役）があったので出向いたところ、門内に閉じ込められ、葛籠、あるいは差荷、または袋に入れた荷物等を持ち出すよう指図されたため、持ち出して門外、その他難波橋付近の間において次々と逃げ去り、立ち帰った旨を申し立てた。よって、入牢を申し付け置いた。

They stated that after carrying [the goods] out through the gate, they had fled one after another at various points between [the gate] and the vicinity of Namba Bridge, and had then returned home. They were accordingly ordered to be committed to prison.
