經て其後 清和帝（せいわてい）貞観（ぢやうくはん）

仁明天皇の嘉祥三年九月に
中臣秀基がはじめて奏聞を
経て、その後清和天皇の貞観
十一年十一月九日
庚申の夜から
はじめて行われるように
なったという。

The Kasuga Festival is the sacred ritual of the four shrines of the Great Shrine.
It is held twice a year, on the Day of the Monkey in the second month
and on the Day of the Monkey in the eleventh month. This festival format
was first petitioned by Nakatomi no Hidemoto
in the ninth month of the third year of Kashō during Emperor Ninmyō's reign,
and afterward, during Emperor Seiwa's reign in Jōgan
11th year, 11th month, 9th day,
from the night of Kōshin (Metal-Monkey),
it began to be conducted
regularly, it is said.
