一利根内河通りを郷之樵夫草苅耕作人之外一切
川向え不可越之《割書：所附在｜別帋》若往還之輩
猥に相渡すにおゐては縦後日に聞立候共其一
在所之者曲事に被仰付へし通候ものをとらへ差
上候は其人により御褒美之高下有之而急度可被下之
自然船物を出し可相通と申族あらはとらへ置

利根内川通り渡河の件につき、宝永年中に出された御書付の写し
覚（おぼえ）
一、利根内川の川筋を、村の樵夫（きこり）・草刈り人・耕作人以外は、一切川の向こう側へ渡ってはならない。（所附は別紙に記す）もし往来する者を、みだりに渡らせた場合は、たとえ後日に発覚したとしても、その者が属する在所（村）の者を罰するものとする。通行しようとする者を捕らえて差し出した場合は、その人（の功績）に応じて褒美の多寡を与えるものとする。自然（万一）、船などを出して渡ろうとする者があれば、これを捕らえておき（以下次頁へ続く）

Memorandum
Item: No one other than woodcutters, grass-cutters, and agricultural workers of the village shall cross to the opposite bank along the Tone Uchikawa waterway. (The list of affected locations is noted on a separate sheet.) Should anyone allow travelers to cross indiscriminately, even if this comes to light at a later date, the residents of that person's home village shall be subject to punishment. Those who apprehend and deliver up persons attempting to cross unlawfully shall be rewarded accordingly, with the amount of the reward varying depending on the individual's contribution. Should anyone attempt to put out a boat in order to cross, they are to be apprehended on the spot... (continued on the next page)
