現代語訳
和荘兵衛は堪忍国で堪忍袋を手に入れ、また仙人から一つの巻物を授かり、無事に家に帰った。その巻物を開いて見ると、なるほど富貴長命を心のままに保つべき秘法を詳しく記してあった。その奇妙不思議なることは何物にも例えがたい。すなわちこの二品を家の宝となし、富貴長命を保ち、今に存命にて富み栄えているとのこと。めでたいことの例ではないか。
「京伝店の義、皆様の後援を厚く受け、遠国からも飛脚のご用命をいただき、ありがたく仕合わせに存じ奉ります。従って、お鼻紙袋、お煙草入れ、煙管の類、随分新しいものができました。相変わらずご用命を賜りますよう、以上」

Wa Sōbei obtained a patience bag in the Land of Patience and was also granted a scroll by the hermit, returning home safely. When he opened the scroll and looked at it, he found detailed instructions on secret methods for maintaining wealth and longevity at will. These mysterious and wondrous things were beyond comparison to anything else. Making these two items the treasures of his house, he maintained wealth and longevity, and it is said he continues to live and prosper to this day. Is this not an auspicious example?
