かくて和荘兵へはむちうこくにいたり
まことによろこびいかりかなしみ
たのしむ人間の七情みなゆめの
中にゆめをみるがごとしと
大にさとりをひらきもはや
このうへにめくりてみべき
くにはあるまじはやく
こきやうへかへらんと
かのつるにのりくう中を
いそぎけるに思ひがけ
なきうしろより
おゝい〳〵とよぶもの有
たれなるらんと
みかへれば一人の
仙人一つへんの
くもにのつて

こうして和荘兵衛は夢中国に至り、まことに喜び怒り悲しみ楽しむという人間の七情はみな夢の中に夢を見るようなものだと大いに悟りを開き、もはやこの上に巡って見るべき国はあるまい、早く故郷へ帰ろうと、あの鶴に乗り空中を急いでいると、思いがけなく後ろから「おーい、おーい」と呼ぶ者がある。誰だろうかと振り返ると、一人の仙人が一片の雲に乗ってやって来た。
その仙人が言うには、「汝はこの夢中国のほかに道なしと悟りを開き、国に帰ろうとするが、我が仙術の上にはまだ奥深き教えがある。そもそも人たる者のこの身が願うところは富貴と長寿である。しかれども富貴は天にあり、死生には命ありと古人も言われて、天に背き命に違っては富貴長命は得難い。この世の良きもののうちには、人たる者の身の行い、心の持ちようによって、たちまち富貴長命を保つ秘伝を詳しく記しおいたものがある。汝にこれを授け与えよう。我は方便仙人である」と言って、かき消すように消え失せた。

Thus Wa Sōbei arrived in Dream Country and achieved great enlightenment, realizing that truly the seven emotions of humans - joy, anger, sadness, and pleasure - are all like dreaming within a dream. Thinking there were no more countries worth visiting and that he should quickly return to his homeland, he hurried through the sky on that crane when unexpectedly someone called "Hey! Hey!" from behind. Wondering who it could be, he looked back to see a hermit sage approaching on a wisp of cloud.
The hermit said: "You have achieved enlightenment believing there is no other way beyond this Dream Country and intend to return home, but in my immortal arts there are still deeper teachings. The desires of those who are human are wealth and longevity. However, as the ancients have said, 'Wealth lies in Heaven's hands, and life and death are matters of fate.' Without conforming to Heaven and going against fate, wealth and long life are difficult to obtain. Among the good things of this world, there exists a secret teaching that details how humans can instantly maintain wealth and longevity through their conduct and state of mind. I shall bestow this upon you. I am the Expedient Means Hermit." So saying, he vanished like smoke.
