代々花の宴の記録が数多くある。清輔の
『奥義抄』に言う。紀貫之の歌に
桜よりまさる花なき花なれば
あだし草木は物ならなくに
と詠んだのももっともなことである。身分の貴賤、雅俗を問わず
人々の鑑賞はこれ（桜）に集中している。ここに

怡顔斎松岡先生が桜の品種を集めて
実録としたものがある。私もまた見聞の正しいものを
補って益し、なおその門人甲敬元子の校
正があって全部が完成した。さて各品種の花形を
詳細に模写するとはいえ、美しい色彩をどうして筆で
表現できようか。さあ、清少納言が『枕草子』に
「絵に劣るもの桜、山吹」と書いたのは、まさに

There are many records of flower viewing banquets throughout the generations. Kiyosuke states
in his Ōgi-shō that Ki no Tsurayuki composed the poem:
Since there is no flower superior to cherry blossoms,
all other plants and trees are as nothing.
This sentiment is indeed reasonable. The appreciation by people of all social ranks, both refined and common,
