義（ぎ）によりて名付（なづく）る也花 彼岸（ひかん）桜に後（おく）れて咲（さく）
○鈍永曰花 開（ひら）く事 桐谷（きりかやつ）より遅（おそ）し緋桜（ひざくら）
江戸桜と同時に咲（さく）但彼岸桜の条（でう）に演（のべ）たる
婆彼岸と此婆桜は別物也

名付けられた。葉と歯は和訓で同じ音である。

○活所翁桜譜によると「茎が短く、
花が密集して付き、葉がない。
年老いた婆が歯がないという

意味によって名付けられた。花は彼岸桜より遅れて咲く」
○鈍永が言うには「花が開くのは桐ヶ谷より遅い。緋桜や
江戸桜と同時に咲く。ただし彼岸桜の項目で述べた
婆彼岸とこの婆桜は別の品種である」

for having no leaves. 'Ha' (leaf) and 'ha' (tooth) have the same pronunciation in Japanese.
This appears in Elder Kassho's Cherry Catalog."
○According to Elder Kassho's Cherry Catalog: "The stem is short,
flowers grow densely and closely attached, with no leaves.
Named after the meaning of an old hag having no teeth,

○Donnei says: "The flowers open later than Kirigayatsu cherry. They bloom
at the same time as scarlet cherry and Edo cherry. However, the
Uba-higan mentioned in the equinox cherry section and this Uba-zakura are different varieties."
