○怡顔斎いわく――花は桐谷（桜）と同じく、色はほんのりと（薄く）して、海棠の花に似ている。また、「桜海棠」というものもあるが、これは桜ではない。附録に詳しく記す。

千本桜（せんぼんざくら）

【下段】
○怡顔斎いわく――吉野および嵐山などで呼ばれる「千本桜」は、一本の木を指すのではなく、数多くの桜（が密集して咲く様子）をいうものである。ここに図示するのは（千本桜という名の）一品種である。花は八重咲きで、わずかに赤みを帯びており、花の形は桐谷（桜）におおよそ似ているが、少し小さい。

Kaidō-zakura (Sea-crab Apple Cherry)

【Lower section】
○Itogansai writes: The flower is the same as the Kiridani cherry; the color is a soft, delicate hue resembling the flower of the kaidō (Chinese crab apple / Malus spectabilis). There is also a plant called "Sakura-kaidō," but this is not a cherry blossom. Further details are provided in the appendix.

Senbonzakura (Thousand-tree Cherry)

【Lower section】
○Itogansai writes: The "Senbonzakura" as spoken of in Yoshino and Arashiyama and similar places does not refer to a single tree, but rather to the spectacle of a great multitude of cherry trees (in bloom together). What is illustrated here, however, is a single variety (bearing this name). Its flowers are double-petaled (yaezaki), with a slight tinge of red, and the flower form broadly resembles that of the Kiridani cherry, though somewhat smaller.
