現代語訳
【右丁】
○怡顔斎いわく 一重咲きにして白色の大輪である。また八重咲きのものもある。これはすなわち江戸の品種と同一のものである。ただし、江戸のものよりも今少し紅みがあり、それゆえ赤みを帯びて光沢があり、有明方（ありあけがた）の月の色に見立てて、この名（有明桜）とした。

【Right folio】
○Igan-sai states: The flower is single-petaled, white, and large in size. There is also a double-petaled variety. Both are in fact the same species as the Edo variety. However, it is slightly more tinged with red than the Edo variety, and therefore has a reddish luster to it. The name (Ariake-zakura, "Dawn Cherry") was given by likening its color to that of the moon in the hours just before dawn.
